"SFWoA Is Better Than Cedar Point"

(I just posted this in another thread, but o well).

Just saw it, but I was half asleep at the time and can't remember much. I do remember the Cedar Point part though. I think it goes over the top and shows they are desprate that they have to mention a park that they are better than.

LOL! Great point!! :) :)

Earlier today, a friend of mine told me his experience at SF:WoA last year. He said when he first walked onto the midway, he saw a whole load of litter. When he got on the Serial Thriller, he told me the employees were rude and were often socializing when they should've been working. Then he described of how the workers at the food stands could have cared less when they were preparing his food. He said to me he would not come back. I could not agree more.

I love Waterville!
Cedar Point, the cure for the Summertime blues!

I just saw the commercial and boy am i a little upset that someone would say something that awful about the Worlds Greatest Amusement Park. Come on, Cedar Point is way better than Six Flags. So I just had to let out a little bit of steam of my chest.

I know this topic has been going on for nearly a month, but I just saw the commercial for the first time...That lady who says Six flags is better than Cedar Point is obviously paid to say it because she really doesn't sound like she's even aware of what she's talking about...and have you seen the clips they show of the water shows with the animals? It looks like it's been virtually created or something...looks to good to be true and that's what six flags is...Everyone here has made great points about six flags shooting themselves in the foot with these direct attacks at Cedar Point...I couldn't agree more...More advertisment for Cedar Point and it's free too...Can't beat that now can ya

Their radio spots do NO bashing of the point at all..kind of surprising they would have two distict different campaigns like that...

For that top quality stuff do you actually think they'd have a consistant campaign?

My wife just got a tour over there in the wildlife areas. She said that for the most part the conditions aren't terrible, but every last biologist on the tour was deeply concerned about the number of animals in that tiny sea lion pen. It's far too crowded.

Six Flags did keep most of the Sea World staff, so animal care should be ok. That somewhat depends on the Six Flags budget I would guess. I had a nice time at the marine side last year, it's the rides side which I feel is not run very well. The thing that gets me about Six Flags is that it is a lot of hype and not a lot of substance. No way shape or form are they better then CP in scope, operations, variety, atmosphere, etc. It's not that what they have is bad, they just build it up to the point where it disappoints people when they go 'cause they expect so much more.

Unless you start first thing in the morning.

Here is my take on the commercial:

AOL claims to be number one. Anybody who has been on the net over two months knows that is a bunch of crap. Every time you turn around, you either see an AOL commercial on the TVs or stamped somewhere in the park. Excuse me, If I pay $40 to get in to a park, I do not expect to see AOL commercials. AOL is numer one... SFWoA is better than CP... AOL commercials at SFWoA... Hmmm.. does anyone see a patern here??

In the commercial I saw they talked about CP 2 or 3 times not just once.

What the hell are you talking about? Sue for what? For someone stating their "opinion?" (I realize there were likely other motives, but you'd never prove it in court.) Cedar Point is a registered trademark but we talk about it all day here!

Cedar Point Cedar Point Cedar Point.

Forget it.

A couple a days ago I got a mass mailing flyer from SFWoA. CP is not mentioned at all. Basically it goes about saying how SFWoA is a good deal and all with the three parks. For the thrill park, they show a pretty good size picture of S:UE's forward spike, maybe in aims of trying too look like SFWoA has the same thing CP is getting.

Also what I thought was clever is they are now offering an "Adventure Pass" which adds on local Cleveland attractions for $30. So a family of 4 can get the SFWoA pass and free admission to the,Cavs (NBA), Barons (IHL) , Rockers (WNBA), Crunch (NPSL), Akron Zoo, Thistledown Race Track, The Cleveland natural History Museum, and Football Hall of fame for $85 each.

Of course the only one of those places worth going is the museum, hall of fame, and the race track. ;)

Whatever the case is people can make up their own minds about what parks they want to go to.The GP (no matter how lacking of common sense they seem at times)do not need directing as to where they want to go.If thewy want SF:WOA they go if they want CP or some other park then they go.

You can't give away tickets to Cleveland sports outside of the Indians and the Clowns.

Plain and Simple:

SFWoA is a HORRIBLE park. CP is the best park I've ever been to. It's a total opinion, but I'd say an opinion that about 99.9% of the public that have been to both parks share.

I don't agree that SFWoA is a horrible park. I believe it isn't run very well but it is a good park. If Cedar Fair went in there tomorrow and took over I doubt we'd be calling it a horrible park.

For what it's worth, I think the potential for future growth is better at SFWoA than Cedar Point right now. Of course, you could argue that they have no place to go but up. I think their variety of attractions (water park, animal park, amusement park) and their proximity to Cleveland (Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame, Metroparks Zoo, etc) give it some real appealing qualities. Not too mention the campground and hotel and their ability to more of that type of stuff too. (Through in Aurora Farms and some local golf courses for good measure.)

I think the bashing needs to turn into specific criticisms. Who knows? Maybe somebody is listening.

Hey I forgot to mention another thing about the SFWoA Adventure pass I noticed. If upgraded for the $30 you can bring a friend for free any day (it says May-July, Aug-Oct which makes no sense) you want an unlimited amount of times as opposed to the 2 or 3 days with just the regular pass.

Bring a friend for free everyday? Hey, why even bother with the POP admission anymore.. It could be a zoo there everyday with no revenue from single admission.
