It doesn't matter what your opinion is, the roar is staying and I don't feel bad for you.

If you don't change your attitude, you won't be posting here anymore. And I won't feel bad for you.

Jeff, I'm only saying this to offer some friendly advice but addressing a lack of civility with that type of response might be counterproductive.

So you are saying someone can't have a opinion on the boards? Last time I checked everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think they should be taking out the incline loop for a zero g roll. I know it wont happen but its my opinion.

I agree.

You could argue that the floorless trains will be *slightly* quieter since I believe they will have a few less wheels. There is no lead car like on Mantis.

I don't remember Dominator at Geauga Lake being terribly loud. Could the standup trains add to a louder "roar"?

Dominator may very well have had the sand, though. That was (and still is at KD) a very fun, very re-rideable ride. I was hoping, albeit not very confidently, that Dominator would come to CP when GL closed.

I'm with Pete and the others in hoping that the roar, at the very least, gets neutered.

As a long-time promoter of fog, this ride has me excited. :)

Promoter of fog.

If they quiet Mantis, the sand would weigh a lot, unless the coaster was designed for future sand loading. I'd say that if silencing is really needed, they should use the other stuff that is almost as good with less weight. I kind of want it kept as-is, but I do see why people think it is too loud. It is, after all, among the loudest coasters that I've encountered. The one coaster that beats it in noise (I think, they're kind of close) is Superman: Escape from Krypton at SFMM.

On another note, as Chuck Wagon said, there could be less wheel sets. I theorize that the lighter trains might help the noise, but that seems a bit far-fetched.

So , I am seeing this as a way to go a step beyond the themeing of Banshee and completely rethink the cue for this ride.
Making the cue less "blocky" and maybe getting a path further into the Bayou such that you take in more of the ride and experience while waiting than currently.
I hope for more of a landscape architectural beauty, paying old tribute to the Jungle Larry days of the area in a new sort of way.
While Shoot the Rapids isn't quite a great fun ride, it is visually fabulous the way it incorporates the railroad and the backdrop of Millenium.
I am looking forward to watching it transform (3rd camera).
I think mantis can become a fun area, and if it is done right, folks will call it Rougarou.
When I was a teenager, riding the frontier lift was the "cool" place to feel like you were "outside" of the park in a dark area. I think this dark area could be a neat place to up-play that vibe. Bring back that wonderful escape place.

Who really cares? It's an amusement park! Does anyone give a rats patoot thar Falfas got ripped by the Ohio Supreme Court? CLASSIC miscarriage of justice! Oh wait..I forgot that everyone is more concerned with the fate of park rides than the fate of our fellow mankind.

If it's under the control of marketing....don't look for any action in the near future. Helen Keller and Stevvie Wonder have more vision than the marketkng group!

Says the guy who can't spell the word...

No, I do not even give a rats patoot about Falfas, yes I do find Mantis transformation into Rougarou much more important than Falfas quit/ being fired situation.

As far as Noise goes, Mantis wasn't the only one that was loud. When I rode the Hulk down in Universal's Islands of Adventure, I thought that ride was loud. Now with the ride becoming Rougarou, If it sounds the same loud noise, I won't care because I'm used to it for almost 20 years. My one piece of advice that I give to everyone is not to call anyone when your standing next to it. You'll be saying "WHAT", I cannot hear you!

I could envision a long term connection from the millennium tunnel across the tracks to the island just next to the back side of Rougarou maybe even connecting somehow, thus changing the entire dynamic of that part of the park.

Out of curiosity, what is the big difference (in ride experience) between an invert or winged coaster compared to a floorless coaster???

I've never ridden a floorless coaster.

Oh, and does anyone know if the break run is going to be removed?

Don't believe it is. If they did the capacity would be terrible. On a floorless coaster instead of riding to the side or below the track you ride just above it with your feel dangling close to the track.

I'm not interested in that advice. If someone is going to be a dick toward someone who has been here for 15 years, I'm not going to tolerate it. I've been very patient with all of the noise and nonsense on here in the last few months, and I'm done with that. You can have all of the differing opinions you want, but if you're going to start hurling insults at people, that crosses the line.

Dear goodness Jeff. There was no insult, but go ahead and continue to set a wonderful example :)
