Record-breaking Siren’s Curse tilt coaster to lure Cedar Point thrill seekers in 2025

I do not think companies are legally required to specify gross vs. net proceeds in the materials and they can certainly claim expenses if they choose to do so. While I agree that the cost of CP letting additional people into the park is negligible they can still claim that as an expense along with the parking costs etc. I definitely hope all of the $125 goes to Prayers From Maria, if that is the case then it is a much different situation than I had originally envisioned.

In what world would the park not simply donate the entire amount to the charity? Is pocketing $23.48 per rider worth it? And yes, I made that number up.

I bought my ticket. This will be my 3rd charity event - previous were MaxAir and Skyhawk.

As you can tell I have not done this for awhile, but I am surprised that they are just doing a flat price instead of an auction. And even more surprised at the low price. I don't have a season pass, so the admission/parking/meal being included seems like a really good deal to me.

And the park will likely get money out of me as I expect to purchase the drink plan and fast lane for the day.

There’s fog in the tunnel along with lighting effects. The lighting on the station looks pretty good as well. Lots of little touches on this ride that I’m impressed with, just hope they keep them working past the first month though.

Promoter of fog.

I thought someone might be happy to hear that, especially a long time promoter of fog!

As I watched Sirens Curse test the other day it dawned on me that there's going to be two seats I'm going to really want to experience. First, the front row, as you approach the drop-off point I'm going to pray the brakes are functioning and after the tilt the 5 seconds hang will be nice. Secondly, the back row. This row will have a very rapid "tilt" experience, as it is more distant from the fulcrum it will elevate to the hang position quicker than the center seats.

Just watched a long news video ( kinda grainy) of the entire plot of Siren's Curse. It appears that the pond will extend all the way from around the dive area to below the first drop. I am going to venture to guess that in addition to the walking path passing above the dive pit, there may be a theme element (monster?) that sits on that platform as well. https://fox8.com/news/see-i...ompletion/

That was long but really interesting to see. They are definitely putting way more into the atmosphere of the ride than I thought they would when it was announced.

Looks like the charity event is sold out at this point.

It must have just sold out. I looked earlier today and tickets were still available. I am surprised that it did not sell out quicker.

Was anyone else cringing at the 3:15 mark with the guy walking on the tilt platform with no harness or tie-off? That seems like a definite no-no.

Yikes. Yeah that is indeed not a great look to not have fall protection, particularly right next to the actual edge of the tilt track.

Lol I work in construction and that's the first thing I saw. I'm sort of surprised they don't have a small rail there.

First thing I noticed too. OSHA would have a field day with that video.

I think this ride is going to really stand out at night with the different colors them being on the train. I wonder how loud the onboard audio will be

I don't think they can have a small rail there because people on the train would be able to reach it. I did notice in a later video, they painted the end of that walkway red - right about where this guy was. Might have even been what he was up there about to do.

That last stretch of queue before going up to the station should be very immersive with trains going both over and under the guests and the water as well, Hopefully it doesn't end up looking like Mantis/Rougarou in the long run though.

I hope the on-board audio and lighting is reliable. Gatekeeper's lighting has been anything but reliable and I've seen some reports that the audio on Flash: Vertical Velocity at Great Adventure is kind of hit or miss in some of the seats.

With the history of CP maintenance on special effects I doubt these will last till the end of the season. On the bright side the fog has been working in the Magnum tunnel though

My favorite game to play on Magnum these days is in the third tunnel and is called "When will the lights and sound effects go off?"

More often than not it's after the C-brakes have done their thing and the train is winding its way to the transfer brakes.

So why did they do such a good job on the theming surrounding the queue, station, etc? Its so odd to have a last minute add to the park and that ride ends up arguably being the best themed.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!
