Record-breaking Siren’s Curse tilt coaster to lure Cedar Point thrill seekers in 2025

A pond is a nice touch to the landscape over the conventional grass area.

A new lagoon for future maintenance opportunities?

Due to the construction walls around the park side of the site and very limited access on the road / marina side I cannot get a good picture of this but it appears that the tunnel might end up being surrounded by water - at least on a few sides. The areas around the columns that have been painted green to resemble plant / algae have been dug out while the surrounding higher ground appears to be nearly even with the tunnel side walls. I cannot see the back side of the tunnel so I am not sure if anything has been dug out on that side. I also can't tell where the walkway will be as the renderings have the walkway going through this area as well so I could be way off on this and the "liner material" could just be heavy duty landscape fabric for huge quantities of brown mulch.

They have spent a lot of time and money on this tunnel project and I understand CP may have never purposely planned on a tunnel they just might be trying to make the most out of it. The illusion of diving into the water would be a nice bonus for this ride. Just speculation on my part but we should know fairly soon what the final landscaping and dare I say theming will be around the ride.

JUnderhill, try sitting in the back-right seat on Rougarou, that's where I was today and saw everything you spoke of while ascending the lift-hill. I had the same thoughts about the black tarp, wondered if it's a liner for a lagoon or landscaping.

^ That’s funny because I was in that same seat on Valravn and wanted a closer look at what I thought I saw so I walked out the Marina gate and down the walkway. Ended up riding Valravn again just to try and get a better view!

Never thought of riding Rougarou though, you most likely had a much better view of the areas I couldn’t see that well.

Do you guys think any theme or pond will push the opening back?

I am not sure what the overall schedule is but Vekoma is still working on the ride. The testing that has been taking place is very limited and there are usually large breaks in between runs where crews are making adjustments etc… I have never seen a coaster being commissioned as all that work is usually done in the offseason so I have no idea how long it usually takes. I guess it’s possible that it could be open in early June but we would need to see consistent running of the trains as well as Cedar Point operators being trained first.

The site work itself looks to be wrapping up, a lot of fencing has already been installed. Some queue rails are up, lighting and speakers have been installed and they were pouring more concrete pathways today. I think a few more weeks and that portion should be ready to go.

I’m hoping to see more bushes. Especially just over the fence lining perimeter road 😉

How long would do y’all thank it take to put water around the queue lines ?

Well, considering the forecast for the next 3 days, should be good by the weekend!

When I was at the park on Monday a guy at Guest Relations told me they are looking at July 15 or thereabouts. He offered the info and I didn’t press further but it seemed long to me. I saw several test runs, but there’s quite a mud pit below yet.
It’s hard to know how it will finally work, but the tilt seems impossibly slow and the return tilt is fast, it almost falls back into place. Maybe it’s just the difference between having a train on the track section and not having one. Safety and comfort, you know.

I’m very sorry you had to put yourself through the whole ride just for a look. Pointbuzz Nation thanks you for your sacrifice.

^Well, I didn't have to put myself through anything, my son & I enjoyed the opportunity to ride one of the fine, thrilling coasters available that day. I didn't ride the coaster with the intent of getting a look as I really don't care about every single update, just when it opens, it opens and hopefully operates appropriately. I enjoy scanning the surroundings as I ride every ride. You never know what you might see, perhaps tall boys in the shrubbery, lagoon maintenance, barn animals running loose. Thank you for representing Pointbuzz Nation.

A "mid-June" opening was mentioned for Siren's Curse on the Investor Day webcast yesterday. I'm heading to the park for the first time this season this upcoming weekend and I figured it would not be open by then, but I know a lot of people are hoping it will be open by Coastermania on June 6.

I could see a mid to late June time frame as being realistic. I just do not see it opening by June 6th, if they can pull that off I'll be pleasantly surprised but with everything I have seen of the testing I just do not see how that's possible. Coastermania is still 3 weeks away though so I guess anything is possible and I would like to be wrong on this.

That being said why is it that a part of me wants it to be closed on June 6th just to listen to the whining of the entitled enthusiast class? Apologies to all the decent folks out there who have tickets to Coastermania.
