It made me think that they were going to show us a timeline... ;)
There's some more discussion about the new webcam here:

I was just pointing it out; that's all. It had no subliminal "post here" meaning.

I was riding the CP&LE Railroad and two employees were sitting behind me. They were talking about the park and then as we passed the project site they mentioned that the announcement for the new coaster will be in September. I dont know if anyone else has heard this but for now Im not going to believe it.
I thought you guys might find this 2004 patent from Werner Stengel interesting. Mr. Stengel designed the Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster.

Does anyone give this design a chance?
I would be 50/50 on that one, They do have that type of coaster in RCT3:Wild. It does look interesting.
But I am really starting to think this ride will be similar to Desert Race being built at Heide Park in Germany.

it's pretty clear this ride will be much more traditional than either of those designs
Based on?

actually the giant tower http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n293/bigbubba36/Free%20Fall%20Patent/fe865a12.jpg looks as if it could go here http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4723 in the giant hole, and an electrical shed could go beneath it. I really think that this is a major possibility now!
Yeah, the freefall design does look quite possible. It is different and that is what CP always tries to get with their new rides. Who knows? Well, besides CP and Intamin, of course ;) Hey, we're gettin' what we're gettin' and no matta what it'll only make us love, adore, and respect Cedar Point more. At least I hope so :)
Holy **** that really looks like what they're building!! I think you just struck something big, and what wonderful correspondence with the webcam launch. Those in the middle of that picture look as though they are for the freefall tower and the rest of the parts that go around in weird loops are the ones on the edge and over the water!!! You don't work for CP or Intamin, do you...??
J2K do you have a picture of the RCT 3 Wild photo that you are referring to above? I want to see it in action because that seems radical, even if that isn't CP's future.
The Desert Track definitely seems more likely as of right now because of the lower height of the supports. But that is just the current, and who knows what the future will hold :)
There is nothing quite like becoming a human windshield on Millennium Force
everyone seems to think the drop is a possibility...could someone explain how it could fit???
the supports just don't compare to the girth of TTD
I suppose not all the supports are in, possibly holding out on us...just a thought
