It made me think that they were going to show us a timeline... ;)

There's some more discussion about the new webcam here:

Um, he can still post that here. It follows the topic just as well as the other topic does.

I was just pointing it out; that's all. It had no subliminal "post here" meaning.

Ride On

Monday, August 7, 2006 7:15 PM

I was riding the CP&LE Railroad and two employees were sitting behind me. They were talking about the park and then as we passed the project site they mentioned that the announcement for the new coaster will be in September. I dont know if anyone else has heard this but for now Im not going to believe it.

It wouldn't surprise me. The bulk of the heavy season will be over and they may draw in some more people (like those who live in caves or under rocks) to come check out the construction during Halloweekends.

Would Dick Kinzel lie to us?

I don't think so, so I'm sticking with late August as the announcement date.

What kind of logic is that? Once something is hinted at, it can never be changed? And if it is changed, it's a lie?

I would be 50/50 on that one, They do have that type of coaster in RCT3:Wild. It does look interesting.

But I am really starting to think this ride will be similar to Desert Race being built at Heide Park in Germany.

Although unique in elements, it's pretty clear this ride will be much more traditional than either of those designs...

Interesting stuff though... especially that free-fall coaster...

I think that the freefall coaster is possible considering that there are so many footers, in so many places, going in all diferent directions that don't make any sense. I just don't think that seems like a CP ride though.

actually the giant tower http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n293/bigbubba36/Free%20Fall%20Patent/fe865a12.jpg looks as if it could go here http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=4723 in the giant hole, and an electrical shed could go beneath it. I really think that this is a major possibility now!

Yeah, the freefall design does look quite possible. It is different and that is what CP always tries to get with their new rides. Who knows? Well, besides CP and Intamin, of course ;) Hey, we're gettin' what we're gettin' and no matta what it'll only make us love, adore, and respect Cedar Point more. At least I hope so :)

Holy **** that really looks like what they're building!! I think you just struck something big, and what wonderful correspondence with the webcam launch. Those in the middle of that picture look as though they are for the freefall tower and the rest of the parts that go around in weird loops are the ones on the edge and over the water!!! You don't work for CP or Intamin, do you...??

J2K do you have a picture of the RCT 3 Wild photo that you are referring to above? I want to see it in action because that seems radical, even if that isn't CP's future.

The Desert Track definitely seems more likely as of right now because of the lower height of the supports. But that is just the current, and who knows what the future will hold :)

These aren't all the supports, though, and you gotta remember that they can be stacked.

everyone seems to think the drop is a possibility...could someone explain how it could fit???

the supports just don't compare to the girth of TTD

I suppose not all the supports are in, possibly holding out on us...just a thought

This freefall coaster goes with all of the hints too:

It goes bacwards (back up bronco!)

It goes upsidedown (ya'll up for some serious sidewindin)

It has 4 sides (put two and two together)

and this is something way diferent that CP has ever done before.

OMG I really think that this is the answer!!!
