Project 2007 Blog Update

I thought that was the conversion being done to the CP&LE railroad. ;)

2003 - Wicked Twister
2004 - Wicked Twister/Top Thrill Dragster

No,they are making the railroad nuclear fusion powered so it has better acceleration than Dragster.

It would still be a steam engine then.

Odd... I just zoomed into the picture posted in the latest blog update and the word on the giant envelope is "Foreign", which looks to support that Maverick is indeed going to be the name of the ride as "Foreign" is also a synonym for "Maverick" which as we all know, as we haven't been living in a closet for the past year or so and n00bs have been saying "OMFGXXORZZ MAVERICK IS COMING 2 CEDER PONT!!111!". I'm guessing that Tony and Tyler will be announcing the ride soon.

Also, I tried to sharpen into the label on the box on the table, as it might hold MANY clues, but since the native resolution of their pictures is so tiny, even with Photoshop it won't work right.

Ride Count at Dorney Park so far this year:
Hydra: 14 Laser: 3 Steel Force: 11 Talon: 18 Thunderhawk: 4
And that's just in 23 hours!

According to the replies to that blog, and judging from the time stamp on each of those...it seems as if someone, maybe not Tony or Tyler, but someone is working around the clock...those replies go beyond 7 in the evening...I have a feeling that we'll know in the next week or two...it can get really hectic before announcement week..

The envelope reads foreign btw..

I have been rummaging through these forums alot for quite awhile now but I have never posted for fear of getting ridiculed. I know better than starting a new thread...that's where they get you. But through all that has been talked about, why haven't the survey marks around Millie Island ever been mentioned? If they have, I'm sorry for opening up old wounds. But I have never seen it and I have been following very closely. You don't have to be a 2000+ poster to be a true CP fan (haven't missed a year in 26 yrs.).

You see i told ever one about this about what i thought was on milly island now you see someone else sees same thing.I mean the surveys markers .Something is going on here .I guess all we can do is wait and see.

In my opinion this is only the beginning of Project 2007. ''Maverick'' may not be the only thing being built at CP. Unless there going for the length record.

Uhh Ohhhh did i just post that out loud? ;)

Coming Soon! Star Wars episode 7- The Fallen Hero
episode 8- The Republic in Crisis
episode 9- Victory of the Force

I was just looking at the funcoast cam and it looks as if there is some type of loop being erected...

If thats the case, it pretty much confirms OTSR system from Intamin as well....I hate their restraints as they are on KK and StormRunner, I REALLY hope they design them a bit better!

How bout this, a coaster that inverts without OTSRs. Its not completely out of the question.

Oh, I would LOVE that. I've always thought Intamin had the most comfortable lap bar restraints. I would love to have a loop without OTSR.

The only reason for OTSR's is that they provide peace of mind to the riders. All that needs to happen is for the center of mass to be held so it can't get out. Intamins restraints, when properly applied, do this extremely well.

And let's not forget the fact that you practically invert on MF 3 times.

Mark

Yeah, I totally agree. Then again, if the train gets stuck upside down (which has happened numerous times), the OTSR will also help keep occupants from sliding out.

I'm all for just a typical Intamin T-bar. :)

Me too :) I love MF and TTD's restraints.

You can't just slide out, you would first need to crush you legs and then you could, maybe. ;) If you are over a certain heigth it is physicaly impossible to get out. Unless the restraints fail or if they are not properly

I've only heard of a train being stuck upside down once. Axel broke off and wedged into the track. What others have there been?

Just once? This has happened numerous times, google it- news tends to cover these things well.

Joxers Jinx at SF America (Maryland) has inversions (its a terrible ride) and was originally built with OTSRs but they were taken out in 2002 and had just lap bars.

Intamin restraints hold your thighs in place, but their OTSR touches not one part of your torso. If you did happen to slide out of these while stuck in an inversion, it would be extremely painful because they lack padding in the shoulder area.

I also agree, MF and TTD feel the like the most secure restraints of any ride. They really hold you in place, I would find it very very difficult for anyone who is properly fastened to slip out.

Yeah, which is sorta ironic that they're the cause of so much controversy. Make the metal side things bigger, then more people can ride and still be really safe.

I love that they don't ratchet like Magnum and others though. It would be totally awesome if CP used these restraints on the new ride even if it went upside down.

Does Ohio law have anything to say about OTSR and inversions?
