Project 2007 Blog Update

I don't know if we could really say this would be an aquatrax. And if it is, I doubt they would go with a boat like that for a train. Knowing Cedar Point since it's frontiertown, they might go for the mine train look, even though thats like right over by Skyhawk. I'm also starting to think, since they started construction so early, they could be adding tunnels like how Millennium Force is with part of it looking like it has a mountain of grass and the other part where you could see the tunnels.

I think the Aquatrax vehicle design can negotiate more extreme transitions than you think Kevin. It all depends how much articulation is designed into the axle.

Look at this picture of the Aquatrax at Lotte World. Notice that the transition out of the turn over the water looks a lot like some of the CP track we have seen.

Yes, single car vehicles can negotiate much tighter turns. The distance between axles is much smaller on the aquatrax vehicles than on a standard train. The Desert Race uses what appears to be the same undercarriage as the aquatrax but with 4 across seating. Keep in mind that some of the turns on the new CP coaster appear to be very tight.

4 people working? That must be what put 2 and 2 together means! Good observation! ;)

Goodbye MrScott

John

Im sorry but i didnt want to post that .Hope you guys dont think im stupid for what i posted up above. It was just a thought .I just wanted to say sumthing else when i first came to this forum I think I made people mad at me.I just wanted to say sorry to ever one that i upset. From now on.Could I be friends with you all ok .I really like all of you guys .Sorry for getting off of the topic though.

people always get off topic, dont even worry about it.

The reason you see less people working on this ride now is the fact that they are only doing one thing. In that picture of WT electricians are taking care of power things, and the construction guys are taking care of the structural stuff. On this ride now, so far, we only have the structural stuff going up. That picture was definitely not taken in August because everyone has coats on, so just wait till its that time of the year and compare. Im sure when they start getting to all of the other stuff such as power, trains, the station we will see alot more people on site.

The people in the Wicked Twister photo are coaster enthusiasts on a construction tour.

Looks like Walt hit that nail on the head. Those "workers" do not look like their doing anything at all on the ride.

Sorry Walt! I look at those people again and they all have street clothes.

I just went to pointpiels.com and i went to where it has pictures of milly island and what i saw made me think. There is something going on at milly ilsand .Can any one verifly this for me.

This is another thought i just had .Has any one wonder if there might be something hidden under where the swan pond is .Maybe there is a hidden tunnel or something like that .My mind is racing right now and i am bored .That would be a cool thing if there was something hidden there.Like on the movie National treasure.lol.lol.

I thought you guys might find this 2004 patent from Werner Stengel interesting. Mr. Stengel designed the Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster.

Does anyone give this design a chance?

WOW When you go to the Patent office page and read the actual patent, this makes sense.

Just a FEW of the excepts that I found that support your theory:

Individual wagons or a train, in the following also referred to as "passenger unit", are "shot" on said rails by means of a catapult-like acceleration....

Therefore, attempts are being made to find additional variations, such as changes in the direction of motion, diversification of the course design etc.

Then, the rails can lead the passenger unit again to the same or to another tower

Accordingly, dead corners of property in amusement parks can also be used for this amusement ride.

I wouldnt read THAT much into it. I can probably find about 30 patents for coasters using the exact same language. (wagon, changes in direction). And I highly doubt that a patent would use language refering to a specific potential park or customer.

Holy moly, thanks for finding that! That's a great idea for a coaster no matter if this is for cedar point or not! I really really want a park somewhere to put one of those in!

I like the idea behind the switching of the tracks. I like how it's done, and it reminds me of a tilt coaster on it's side and on steroids!

I wish T&T would find some new people to update the blog. Is it just me, or do they give about zero information on there anymore? The updates are very infrequent & when we get one it's quite weak.

They post a new blog as quickly as every 3 days, and rarely (if ever) take any longer than 10 days between entries. Do you want them to update it every few hours or something?

Brandon

No DJ, not every few hours or something. It's just so seldom that anything substantive is put on there. I get tons more information here than they would ever provide. It just seems the blog is a waste of space & time.

dj, when was the last time they had a real entry? Maybe a month.

But they are very busy, it should "Speed" up in the winter.
