Project 2007 Blog Update

I don't know if this has been discussed but do you think "Were going in a whole new direction" means there will be a backwards portion of the ride.

I counted 69 rides and attractions.

I didn't feel like counting, hahaha.

I've been reading everyone's thoughts about the great mystery project. I have finally come to a conclusion. CP is going to build duelling something or others and here is why. CF just announced it's plans to acquire the Paramount park and possibly certain licenses....Let's not forget about the numerous "Top Gun" rides at various Paramount Parks......Also, let's not forget that Tom Cruises charater was called Maverick. I am expecting CP to get away from the Frontier Town of old to make way for a more modern section of park. Dueling coasters with a jet fighter theme would be cool but I doubt it will happen. Just thought I would put spin on the "put two and two together" Oh, I almost forgot that sidwinders are a typ of missle. Hmm....Everyone has my permision to bash me freely for being stupid!

Much of this sounds feasible to me.

DD"fsbo" while I think your idea is out there (and not even close) you thought that through pretty well. Much better than half the stuff posted in this thread.

I'm still sticking to AquaTrax (no proof, no speculation, just my though as to what it might be, and what I'm hoping it would be).

The "Mavrick and Goose" flyer gets hit by the "sidewinder" rocket coaster and goes into a flat spin in the swan pond killing goose and leading Mav to debate weather or not to fly again...fun but...

Well DD"fsbo" lets also not forget that CP bought the parks that were owned by Paramount they did not buy Paramount...Don't expect CP to be adding any movie themed rides are attractions because CP is in no way affiliated with Paramount. Does Cedar Point really want to promote a Paramount Movie that came out in 1986? Or should I say promote a ride with a movie that came out in 86?

(insert dramatic theme for Top Gun here)

And for good luck when you get off the ride you can purchase fake dog tags for one dollar to throw in the pond...at sunset of course.

Glad to interject some comedy. Like I said, I doubt that is what they are doing but at all seemed to come together nicely. CP is just 20 years late on the themeing. 8-)

I'd be happy if Cedar Point was creative and just came up with a name that had a good catch to it. Like when they came out with Millennium Force, that was a perfect name for it. Wicked Twister has a nice name to it too. Maverick to me doesn't sound like it would necesarily be Top Gun. It could be an old western cowboy name.

Building a ride themed around a 1986 Tom Cruise movie... and placing it in an area of the park which is themed around early 1900's American culture.

Sounds right to me! ;)

Wait a minute! Now that you mention it, perhaps they aren't removing Antique Cars. Rather, they are going to re-theme them into stock cars, slap some Mellow Yellow stickers on them, and theme them based on Top Gun 2 - er, Days of Thunder, I mean.

Brandon

Do they even make Mellow Yellow anymore?

Yes they do, but I actually spelled it wrong. Its actually Mello Yello.

Ah but CP is full of Pepsi products, not Coke products. :)

Did anyone else go to that website and notice just how many products are Coke products? I count 58. *** Edited 6/1/2006 3:30:34 PM UTC by Jeff Young***

Yeah, I've always found it amusing how many different sodas there are - all owned by two companies.

And, I'm glad that CP carries Pepsi, as I enjoy their drinks and admire their business practices. :)

As much as I like pepsi (and Mountain Dew) they don't hold a candle to Rock n Rye. Especially when said Rock n Rye is mixed with a little Christian Brothers.

Only Diet Rootbeer.

I remember going to the old Towne Club (not faygo, just reminiscing) bottling plant to drop off the old bottles and get full ones. I think the place is closed now, but it was still fun to do.

How did this this Project 2007 thread become the soda drink thread??? very odd. Well, i guess there really isn't much to talk about because there is very little info we have to work with. However, most of us are convinced that the coaster is an Intamin piece. My question is... why??? This would be the fourth coaster in a row by Intamin and frankly and as much as i love MF, WT, and TTD, i think Cedar Point needs something else to follow those three up. Now i agree that it is Intamin (i mean, the track makes it quite obvious), but can someone give me an answer as to why Intamin AGAIN?

I feel the same way ramboozle. I was hoping for a new B&M. especially a dive coaster

Because B&M were to busy? I am guessing, but I thinks its a Intamin because of the problems they had wit TTD. Maybe Intamin came in and said with all the problems you had with it, we will give you something that people will love just like Milli.
