Project 2007 Blog Update

I thought you had to sign a 'Confidentiality Agreement' when you know anything about a type of project like this? Until they announce it, who ever told you about it broke the law...

I found out in 2004. Until i seen the type of track I knew for sure what I was told is very true.

2007: Cedar Fair Season Pass Holder?

I think I have figured it out. I know why this new ride has to be Intamin and not another coaster company. Intamin is the only company that could produce a crazy coaster thought up by Cedar Point. The others are always worried about something. In this case, I guess I would rather see this new ride rather than some boring B&M coaster. And don't get me wrong, I love B&Ms.

if you figured it out... then what type of coaster... i mean its almost obvious that it is intamin.

from the track picture, the track didnt look very wide. is that because of where it was shot from... or could it be an aquatrax? i dont really want one. but if it is one ill ride it.*** Edited 5/11/2006 9:30:56 PM UTC by milleniumforcerocks*** *** Edited 5/12/2006 12:17:35 AM UTC by milleniumforcerocks***

I said I think I figured it out. I am not a hundred percent sure. I might be completely wrong. But if you put together every clue that T&T have given us, all the track pieces we have seen, the layout of the footers in Walt's aerial photos, etc., you can find what it is too. I am not going to say what it is because if I am right, I don't want to give it away and upset, Pointbuzzers, Walt, Jeff, and Cedar Point.

i think coasterfan82 just likes attention. like the saying goes, "those who talk know nothing, and those who don't talk know something."

ok if that want you want to think then you can.

Just tell us this: Is it an Aquatrax? :)

Yes, yes it is... Happy

April fools, oh wait, that was five weeks ago.

I don't think so, but don't take my word because I was not told what it would be. I am just gathering the "clues" that have been given to come up with the best possible outcome. If you want the answer that is 100% correct, ask Jeff. ;-D

Yeah, cause Jeff is just gonna blurt out the answer when you ask. Infact bypass Jeff and just call up CP and ask to speak to Dick.

Call up just like that and say "Hey, Can I talk to Dick?" Pretend like your old buds.

:)

I am going to try that tomorrow, thanks for the idea.

I honestly can't see CP putting in an Aqua-Trax. My reasoning? The months of May, September, and October are cold, even frigid along the lake shore. Cedar Point, in my opinion won't add a multi-million dollar water ride that will only be used half of the season each year. Sure, when it opens it will draw crowds, but that won't last long at all if its cold and rainy in May like it is today. I'm sorry, but for them to spend 15-20M (guestimate) on a water coaster, again I just don't see it happening...and I hope I'm right.

What about Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon? They seem to do alright during the season...and you get drenched on those!

granted i only go once a year now, but i haven't seen long lines on SRF or TC since maybe the first couple years they were open. the last several years i've been, you could walk on both of them. and, it was hot outside.

i have no idea how they work, but on the aquatrax pics online, it looks like there are just jets that spray water on you. so, i'm guessing you could turn that off. i didn't see any troughs of water that the car pysically went through - like WWL.

It dosen't look like you get wet at all...

Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon close after Labor Day every year.

Two words: Mega Looper

Get off the aquatrax bandwagon and jump on this one. :)

mega looper has a better ring to it!

Since when? Thunder Canyon closes because of Werewolf Canyon, but Snake River Falls is still open.

You could fit a Mega Looper in that area, But I find it unlikely...

And it probably wouldn't do 11 inversions unless it was ultra-compact.

And the footers in the pond don't really say 'mega looper' to me...

The footers in the pond, and corresponding footers that lead to and from the pond could easily be from an interlocking corkscrew element. Someone even altered a photo that shows that it could be for just that. Who said the layout wouldn't be compact? If 11 inversions is all you need for the record, then I'm sure they could squeeze that many in.

I was thinking that as the season got later that the water rides (minus WWL) were shut down because of a lack of ridership. I worked on Thunder Canyon in 2003 and I thought that they did so. But you're right, they do us TC for the Werewolf Canyon now.

Those are going to be huge corkscrews then;)

I got another 'concept art' drawing, brought to you by paint.

hopefully you can make some sense of that... It has everything you need, Launch, Airtime, Twists, Flume sections, and it uses WWL's old station.
