ok - who has noticed all of the "little" square footings over behind the old carousel?
check out this pic of the footings under the WWL station. http://pointbuzz.com/gallery.aspx?i=3597
they look the same to me. that leads me to believe that those footings are for platforms or walkways. maybe load and unload stations??
The footer you posted in the picture actually is from White Water Landing.

The wwl station will not be used or maybe plans have changed to keep it. Its Cedar Point they amaze us all!

I personally still think it was just left as a "barrier" to the construction zone.

or they are teasing us by leaving it still up?

I also think it is just to block some of the construction, and make the area look a little nicer.
Thrills Around the Corner!
I think they might convert the old WWL station into the on-ride photo shop or another small type of store after the ride is finished.
I don't really know whats going on other than its a Red Intamin, but I think that a launched looper is something being overlooked. Lift Hills are sadly becoming a thing of the past. I mean honestly? Why use something that takes up time and a lot of space when you could just launch a train which adds a thrill of its own and uses a lot less space. Pluse look at Intamins last couple coasters, pretty much all launched. I just think something with a lot of inversions, twists and turns kinda fits the theme. A maverick is a wild horse...a coaster with a lot of twists and turns would be wild and out of control. Also the sign about a lot of sidewinding...leads to this same theory of a lot of twist and turns. Also going in a whole new direction leads to just talking about all the direction changes and also how Cedar Point generally doesn't do inversions, or maybe its just talking about the new direction they are going in because of Kenzel leaving? Also about the add two and two? What about the inversions between our two main inversion rides, Raptor and Mantis? It equals ten which is the current record for most inversions on a single ride, and also Intamin has a ride type they call the Ten Looper, just and idea more than anything. I just don't see why they wouldn't throw in another inversion to get the record.
This could be called a sidewind.

Why does everyone think a Maverick is a horse. Maverick means an unbranded range animal. So it could mean horse and also alot of other farm animals.
That element on Storm Runner is crazy. When I rode it in August 2004 I had to ride it twice just to get the feeling the element had to offer.

Why does everyone think Maverick is for Cedar Point?
^^Umm... Maverick was trademarked for a Cedar Fair attraction and Cedar Point is the only Cedar Fair park building something right now. Oh and Maverick fits perfectly into a frontier area of the park. Why wouldn't everyone think Maverick is for Cedar Point?

R.I.P. Mr. Scott
This may or may not mean anything, but Cedar Fair trademarked "Millennium" in 1997, and then abandoned that trademark in 1999 for "Millennium Force." So they might just have it on reserve for a project right now; Maverick might only be part of the name. I'm not going to say that it isn't for whatever is going in in Frontiertown, it very well could be; I'm just pointing out some facts.
