Panda express and Chick-Fil-A?

Captain Crunch, not only are you great in my cereal bowl, but you just made milk shoot out of my nose.

PKD opens already? Wow.

Yep, this Saturday, 03/31, starts the 2007 season Kings Dominion. Great America in California opens 03/31 as well.

Carowinds was the first seasonal CF park to open in 2007 last Saturday the 24th.

Based on my experience at Kings Dominion so far, it looks like chain food outlets are here to stay in at CF. In 2005, KD put in a Chick-Fil_A, a Starbucks, a Cinnabon, and 2 Subway locations. In 2007, KD replaced one of the Subway restaurants, located in the water park with a 2nd Chick-Fil-A location and we are getting a China Panda. All the other chains are still at the park for this year including a Bubba Gumps that was installed between 2000 and 2005. Even with those chains in the park, 75% of the eating places at KD are in-park operations.

Bubba Gumps rules! The one that I ate at (Monterey Bay, California) would quiz you on various topics from Forrest Gump, and the more you got right, the more money you saved on your dinner. Well, I just so happened to have watched that movie countless times, and made a clean sweep! Yay for free food!

I'm curious to see how these additions will affect CP's other food outlets. In all seriousness, I'm wondering if they're robbing Peter to pay Paul in this situation. Let's assume these are not CP owned or operated outlets or at the very least, they don't make as much profit from these as their own food stands. If Chick-Fil-A, Panda Express, Pizza Hut, TGI Fridays, Famous Daves, and Johnny Rockets are very popular (which I assume they will be), doesn't this mean less people will be eating at CP's own establishments, thus making them even less profitable - which caused them to look at chains in the first place? Or, do they actually make more people eat, so overall food profit is up across the board? It'd be very interesting to see some graphs on this over time.

This is actually pretty funny to see a bunch of grown men arguing about what type of food belongs in Cedar Point. Heck, if I'm hungry, I'm don't care what food is around me, I'm going to eat it.

^ Cool man. You go right ahead and keep eating everything in sight.

I'll wave to you from Millennium Force.

I really don't see much of an argument going on here.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that I don't go to Cedar Point for the food, I go for the rides. But, I can see from my post where you would have trouble figuring that out.

People just assume that if people have differing opinions and are able to DISCUSS them, they're automatically arguing.

Shut up, Tim - you're stupid.

There, now it's an argument. ;)

I like the rides, but I really just go to Cedar Point for the atmosphere. I like being outside, and having rides around just makes it that much better.

Ironically, Geauga Lake doesn't have the same "fun" factor lately, and I don't enjoy being there nearly as much as CP. There's just something about the location and the way the place feels that makes it cool, chain restaurants or not.

^^ - have you been reading the freep.com boards? That's exactly what qualifies as a discussion on there, 2 groups of people calling each other names.

^^ Yeah, I saw that. I think I've posted there once, but anything intelligent just gets lost amid the overwhelmingly stupid.

Valleyfair put in a Panda Express last season and it was instantly busy from when they opened. They did'nt have the same extensive selection as a regular panda express. But they did have someone out front handing out samples of Orange Chicken, mmmm. :)

Okay, why not put in something like a "Texas Roadhouse" in CP Frontier trail? At VERY lest another BBQ type-joint. Hell, I'd even take a QUIZNO'S in that location!

Wow, I didn't realize Cedar Fair had started putting all the same restaurants in all of their parks. Interesting strategy there. Wonder where we've seen that before? :)

first resturant, next thing it'll be RIDES! Can you imagine an MF being installed at EVERY OTHER CP park? What about 10 Blue Streaks? Could CF handel that????

^interesting that you mention MF being installed at other CF Parks. I'm surprised you didn't mention Maverick or TTD. In normal conversations, when Cedar Point is brought up, I almost always hear MF mentioned before TTD. Is MF still the ride that defines Cedar Point?

MF will always be one of a kind. It was specifically designed to fit the odd 'L' shaped area of land that was available (with some tweaking of existing attractions) to build on. Coupled with its relatively extreme height, this millenium will only have one force.

Now come back in 2999, and we'll talk about the next 'Millenium Force'. Anti-grav motors rule!

Off topic: I finally (and after much procrastination) became a 'Premier' member at P'Buzz. I'm surprised how much I miss the hot girls that are usually side-barred over there: ------------->
