One riders quest to ride !!

I took the time to make sure that I fit the test seat before waiting in line

I saw this happen no less than 3 times this weekend, and I was only in the park for a day and a half.

I would be viciously livid if it were me.

Brandon

Oh trust me I am...

News update...

I have called several managers regarding this and not a single one had returned my call.. It is now tuesday nite almost one whole week since my visit to the park.. Today I had had enough and called Dick Kinzels office and if nonthing works I will call again and wait to speak to him personally because this is for one bad park managmet and for two bad guest relations.....

If I don't have a phone call by Friday I am calling the Kinzel office and not hanging up till I talk to the big man....

Anways my next visit will be August 1st unless I get some free tickets to the point out of this deal and if so I will be down there in a shorter amount of time....

Yes go for it!! Most people who have a legitimate complaint (and from your side of the story it sounds like you do) just stop after they get stonewalled by the first rung of managers. Always remember that there is always someone who is higher on the rung, if you don't get what you want at the beginning keep going higher.

Right ON!!

I am proabbly one of the most understanding people that you will meet and the first time I waited my sweater was getting in the way and without even being told I left and said that I would be right back after I had put it away... I did not want to hold up a train from dispatching. On the second try he helped for like 10 sec and then was like you cant ride get off and that is where i got pissed I am sorry but you should take the time to make sure someone can ride if they fit the test seat then they should ride....

I called the Kinzel office tonite left a message and hopefully he will call me back here tommarow before I go to work...

Not that I don't feel bad for your situation, but I think you're expecting a bit too much.

I really think Dick has more pressing issues to deal with than some ride ops. on MF.

I am... and i will get a response about this one way or another.. about Dick Kinzel being worried about his ride ops.. He should be as Cedar Point is the flagship park he should be concerned because if things are not up to par and his managment team stinks underneath him then he is in some serious trouble... Trust me I did not want to call his office I really did not but after trying for a half week to get a hold of some ride assistant manager I am fed up and am going to talk to the big man... I have tried for the past 3 buisness days to get a hold of someone and all I get are voice mails I have had it..... Sorry Walt but I am expecting something to come of this... If I fit the test seat I should be able to ride no questions asked the belts should not be different on diffrent seats and the ride ops should not treat me like dirt due to the fact that i interupt there interval. I am the guest. I am the one that paid 32$ to visit the point and if i drove the three hours and fit the test seat then I have every right to ride... So Ya I am going to make a fuss of this....

Sorry but now I am getting a little ticked off that the people on this board who should understand are saying its a little to much for Dick Kinzel to take care of a couple of ride ops. Well when you have exausted all the reasonible channels for getting something done it is time to get to the big man himself....

I will keep you posted..... *** Edited 5/24/2006 2:33:00 AM UTC by Eleazar721***

I rewrote that post a couple of different times trying to make sure it didn't sound too harsh. I really think it's too much to ask of poor Dick to reply to your issues with some seasonal workers at Cedar Point when he just closed a $1.2 billion dollar deal adding 5 more parks to his kingdom.

I would of went through normal channels but when I have wanted to talk to a assistant manager now almost a week after my visit and they have not called me back and they have also not responded to my calls then what should I do ?? Just cross my fingers and pray and hope that they call back..... If they would of responded immediatly then I would of sat back and relaxed and let it roll off but since they insist on not responding I am going to go to the big man.... And if what I have read about him is true he would have no problem discussing some of his parks operation with a investor which I consider myself without my money there would be no project 2007 there would be no cedar point....

Josh,

Good luck with your weight loss! I did the same in 2003 and 2004. I went from 315 to 285 pounds before my 2003 trip to Cedar Point, and then got down to 240 by my 2004 trip. I understand your frustration with the Millennium Force seatbelts. The seatbelts ARE different lengths. Some are also easier to pull slack than others. I'm lucky enough that even with a 38 inch waist I was proportioned right to fit on MF at 285 pounds, having a small butt LOL. Believe me, it is SO worth the weight loss. Millennium Force is AWESOME! My advice to you is, on top of continuing the weight loss, remember where the seatbelt crossed your body and adjust your wardrobe accordingly - wear more form-fitting pants without a belt so there is less material adding to your girth. Does that help at all? As your next trip is in August, you will be wearing much lighter clothing, right? I can definitely tell the difference depending on what I'M wearing at different times of the year. I'm pretty sure you were told to do this, but pulling the seatbelt ALL the way to the buckle and then shimmying back and forth is the ONLY way I can get the seatbelt buckled and then adjusted to the proper slack. And like I already mentioned, some seatbelts are VERY difficult to pull that slack. But when you are determined to ride the blue beast you pull as hard as you can! Again, GOOD LUCK!

Josh

I know how you feel. Last year was the first year I was small enough to ride MF. But it was close. Every time I got in line I kept thinking to myself, "What if I get a seat with a belt that's a little bit shorter? Am I waiting all this time for nothing?" Fortunately last year that didn't happen. This year, I don't know. I went to CP for the first time on Monday. MF was closed but I did try the test seat. I was able to get the belt buckled but could only pull about 3/4" I know when I rode TTD I didn't get as much slack in the real seat as I did on the test seat. One possible explination for this that I thought of was when I was in the test seat I had my legs extended, I didn't even thing about it until after I had trouble in the real seat. When I extend my legs, my thighs dropped slightly. That may be giving me some of the extra room in the test seat. On the real seat, that's not practical. The seat in front of you is in the way. I was also in the back row of a car and that might have made a difference also. I agree with you that the test seat should match the real seat. If they need to be different, they should err of the side of the test seat being slightly smaller. That way even if you have trouble with the test seat, the real seat is easier.

Here's hoping you get to ride soon

Sorry Walt but I am expecting something to come of this

And you got it, as I understand, in the forum of a line pass. Right? So what else do you want?

You can't expect the Cedar Point world to stop just because you're upset. When you have three million people visiting anything, whether it's an amusement park, sporting event, movie theatre, there are going to be a certain percentage, however small, of people who file a complaint. This happens every day. Don't act like you're the most important thing in their world and then wonder why they don't rush to return your call.

You made a complaint. They gave you the ability to skip the line next time you ride. If you're still upset, write a letter. But calling every phone in park demanding answers isn't going to do anything except further increase your own frustration.

When you make statements like, "unless I get some free tickets to the point out of this deal." it just makes it sound like you're after something for nothing.

Josh here is another hint if it was not posted already,

eat 4 small meals a day, it works. Most wrestlers that want to loose weight do that.

and even i have problems getting the belt on, i mean i get it on but i dont have very much slack, and i play football and work out and stuff, which probably causes the problems with my thighs. Best of luck man

I am sorry Walt...

After last night I realized that I was getting over anxious and should wait for them to call and the did tonite..... Here is what is going on...

Bob Ozniak(not sure on spelling) called me today in response to my guest complaint and when I come on my next guest visit they are going to give me ERT on proably Millie and Dragster. I do not know what the official word is but after explaining to him about the condition that I received with the ride ops and how they were rude and very nasty about it he was very upset himself and apoligized hand over foot and said that he was going to do everything on my next trip to make it up to him... He asked me when my next visit was and I told him June 15th its the thursday of that week.. He said that he was going to personnaly escort me to the rides along with debbie mutate(again sorry if spelling is wrong) and they were going to get me on the two trouble rides from my visit dragster and milli... That is all that I really wanted was a response and hopefully a corrected problem on my next visit so I can ride....

Now back on topic sort of.. I am going to turn this now more twoards what it should of been and that is a daily log of what I am eating how much i exercised etc etc etc.... I really need a team behind me to make this work and i think if i hold myself to putting it on this site it will make me eat less because I am going to have to report it to the whole wide world... Again wish me luck as I will need it and I hope that I have not made you too mad walt... They said that they were going to send out a letter and make this happen....

Is there any way to make your body lose weight in a certain part.. I need to lose from chest to thighs....

After tonight look for a update everyday as I report what I ate and estimated calorie intake and how much I exercised...

Next Visit : June 15th
Time of visit : Park open till park close...
Ideal weight by time of visit : 280

Hope to see you there

First of all, you're not getting "ERT," because that's time set aside for a group of people outside of normal operating hours. You're getting an exit pass, or what some affectionately call an "ass pass" since it's usually given to people who make a nuisance of themselves, which you are very much on the borderline of doing. (Instead of going up the exit, you're going up the... well, nevermind.)

I say you're being a nuisance, because people have written with simple questions and less significant complaints and had responses from Wozniak, supervisors and other people. If you weren't getting satisfaction, I suspect it was your tone and delivery.

Good luck on your weight loss, but I suggest you share that with people on a weight loss forum, not here. Thanks.

I apoligize if you think I am being a jerk but I was dissatissfied with the service that I recived from the park knowing the past service that I have recived... I just was measuring up the past experince with a current one and they were not up with par as far as good luck on the weight loss and sharing on a weight loss forum I would rather share with people that love the point... If you and walt want to close this then I don't care but don't make me feel like crap for trying to do something constructive to help out myself and my health... And yes you do make me feel like that jeff....

I'm not making you feel like anything. I just said this isn't a weight loss discussion forum. You don't think I haven't been there myself? Stop trying to push off your own feelings on me and Walt every time we make a reply.

You don't call the CEO of what's about to be a $2 billion company to complain. You go through channels. Like I said, people have posted e-mail on here from Wozniak about really mundane crap, and I'm sure if you would've approached it politely you would've gotten a response sooner.

I'd be a little pissed if someone got an exit pass, and basically cut me, all because they cried to anyone who would listen.

What is the best weight loss that I can hope for in four weeks..

About getting the ride pass if you would of had the same situation happen to you then you whould of wanted something to be done as well fastball...

Jeff even said that I had a legitamate complaint I just proabbly went around expressing myself the wrong way...

21 days till my next point visit....
