Well my dad has kinda also jumped in on this quest and told me that if I drop my weight down to 290 before my next visit that he is going to pay my way to go in august so heres to losing 15 pounds... I will keep you guys updated still so maybe we should not delete this thread yet....
Thank you again for all your words of support and I know that some of you feel like this thread is just a waste of bandwith but I do appreciate the nice comments that have been made and am truly enjoying the journey...
By the way Dragster is awesome second favorite coaster for me... That launch can be painfull though if you have hands up... Laugh out loud...
I didn't go through all pages of this, but I saw your original post and I saw a lot of flaws in your plans. You've got to exercise a lot more than three times a week for 20 minutes. Go for 30 or even 40 minutes. If you combine lifting weights with cardio, it works even better. I am a big guy and I do cardio everyday. The more you work out, the more weight you will lose.
And just avoiding fast food will not help you. You've got to really pay attention to everything you eat. I lost a ton of weight because of this place called Medical Weight Loss kinda like LA weight Loss. Try that or talk to your doctor...

I barely fit in MF at age 16. I was 236 lbs and now I weigh 175. My waist size was 42 now its 30. I ran whenever I could (which really was not all that often). I had a nightly work out routine that took 20 minutes max. I drank nothing but water. Lots of water. My workout consisted of sit-ups push-ups crunches and curls. Eating wise I would drink water all day, eat nothing but salad and fruits. Then when dinner came I would eat one semi small serving of anything I had for dinner. Hope this helps any :).
The restraints aren't the problem. I am pretty sure it has always been the seatbelt that will get you. I remember when MF first opened, some bigger riders couldn't ride it. Now the seatbelt is smaller, if I am not mistaken.

Me again...
New rules
1.) NO fast food whatsoever..
2.) Diet pop or regular water..
3.) NO buying food at wal-mart while working.
4.) Since I do not eat on lunch hour anymore powerwalking the store on my lunch break...
If there is any tips that you have for losing weight for a hour lunch that I can do while working other then power-walking please let me know. Time is limited because of school and extra-curricular activities that I want to do.
Also to avoid people getting upset my previous posting style is going to be irradited with a nuculear blast and I am only going to update this once at the end of every month..
My next trip will be next year so lets see how much weight I can lose by then...
Weight now : 310
Weight I hope to be at with losing 10 pounds a month by August of 2007 : 190
You'll never lose weight if you start skipping meals. That's the plain and simple truth. Not eating causes your metabolism to go into "startvation mode" and it slows down. It's a natural human survival function.
Instead of saying "no" to food, try eating the right things.
Bring a small turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread from home every day for lunch. You can substitute other lean meats such a chicken breast or lean roast beef (make sure it's lean, some roast beef is really fatty) and don't put any cheese on it at all.
It's small so you can eat it easily before or after your power walk. Make sure you follow it up with 16 ounces or more of water.
Trust me.
Exit :
Thanks for the advice..
The idea was not to not eat but to just stop eating out most of the time what I get at walmart is a chicken mean with chicken tenders coleslaw and Mac @ Cheese which is very unhealthy for you..
I will have my mom buy me some chicken breast or lean roast beef when she goes out to the store next time...
Exit is right about skipping meals. Here are the facts:
-Drink plenty of water. Cut out everything else; pop coffee, etc, isn't going to help you at all; just set you further back.
-Be sure you eat a good breakfast. Even if it's just a bowl of cereal, that's better than nothing.
-What your ultimately trying to do is to cut back on carbs and fats, and increase your protein intake. Don't cut them out completely, but if you track your diet, you'll likely find that your protein intake is likely very low compared to your fat intake and carb intake.
-The fact of the matter is, you likely have a high metabolism, the problem is that it's a high basal metabolism rather than a high activity metabolism. This most often attributed to the fact that you sit more than you stand/walk. Even something like going out for a walk each night will help.
-To lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than you burn each day; plain and simple.
-Rather than eating 3 meals a day, you're better off eating 5-6 smaller meals. But once again, be careful. They shouldn't be the equivalent of 6 regular meals, rather each about half of what would be a regular meal. This too will help to increase your activity metabolism as your body will be constantly digesting food.
-Believe it or not, getting a good night's sleep is very important.
-Just cut out anything that might be an extra. If you're having a baked potato, skip the butter, sour cream, etc.
-Everyone talks about eating the whole grain/whole wheat, but you need to be careful. Read the contents. If the first thing on the ingredients list does not read whole grain or whole wheat, than the food is not a good source of it. Even if it is mentioned somewhere else in the list. It must be the very first thing on the list.
-Combine any cardiovascular exercise you do with atleast a light weight training routine.
I'll think of a few more things soon... ;)

And when you do make it to the Point, be sure that if it's a really hot day in the 90's-100's, wear a light colored shirt, shorts, drink plenty of water, and for god's sake don't eat fried, greasy foods and try to watch your salt intake. When I went to Hersheypark last Monday, it was 100 degrees, I was wearing a black shirt with pants and drinking a lot of soda. The only thing I ate was some onion rings. And salt messes with your body being able to persperate. If you can't sweat you will roast because your body produces sweat to cool you down. And onion rings, well... if you eat them they will come back up to say hi and thanks for eating me later! lol

By actually eating right, and to a lesser extent getting at least SOME excercise and, most importantly, sticking to it.
Even if you eat abnormally bad for a few days, just get right back on track.
There's only so much advice I can give you before you'll stop following it, but talking about losing weight never really accomplished anything. The first week of eating correctly will be HARD, I'm not joking you, you'll want to stab yourself in the eye with a fork, but you HAVE TO make it through that first week in order to start your process.
Trust me. Look at the contest winners here: www.bodyforlife.com. They all ate right and stuck to it, and some of them won a million dollars for it. Think of an MF ride as your prize.
