Now if we actually are getting a mamoth coaster for 2007 the ride dosent necssarally have to be confined to the wwl space, it could be like corkscrew and go over the midway, or cross over/interact other rides and attractions.
I agree, glwwk46. That's another reason for my speculation!
I can't believe we have a whole year to wonder about this ... :-P
I'm quite sure that by this time next year, we'll have known what is going in there for quite some time.

But also, things should start coming together during the later part of the season. If they start receiving track or pour footers for this ride, we can begin to rule out what it could or could not be.
Until then, we all might as well just hibernate. =P
You know, there has got to be someone that at least reads these forums that has a small personal plane. I'm surprised we haven't seen any arial shots yet of the park this off season, especially with all the buzz around WWL's plot of land.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

They're trees....trees don't keep the GP happy. New coasters or thrill rides do. Most of you people complaining about the trees will be right there when the new ride opens waiting for your turn to ride. I'm almost positive they will plant more trees. It's not like they are killing off a whole habitat for construction.
I think you'd be surprised as to how important the landscaping is in a great park, and how people perceive a park to be based on its landscaping. I know I wouldn't want to spend a day at a park without any shade. But once again, I do agree they'll do a nice job landscaping when they're done, but it won't be anything like it was.

Maybe with all that cleared space they could build a new and improved WWL incorperated the old station in and around a new Dueling Flyer.
Now as far as a new and improved White Water Landing, I can see them using the station, but I don't see them making another flume. I think it would be a water coaster if they are going to go that route.
Has anyone made a new log flume in the past 20 years? (besides RCT) I doubt CP would get more guests than usual through the gates with a new log flume as their big '07 attraction.
I've heard many good things about this ride...

What you may not have heard is that apparently the drop angle (at the bottom) wasn't built or designed correctly, and as a result many people have suffered from a damaged or broken coccyx or tailbone. Not a pleasant thing to say the least...

I believe that will only happen on rainy days.
DBCP - do you have a link regarding the injuries (not disputing, just curious about what happened)

That's the only link I can find at the moment, but somwhere I read that there was about 1200 cases of the same injury/injuries.

I rode it in November of 2004 (DDRSF) and the ride was very enjoyable. I didn't have a problem with pain of any sort at the bottom of the drop. But anyway, back on topic...
I can see a water coaster there, but with a name like Maverick I'm not too sure. Assumming of course that Maverick will be the name of the ride.

^It doesn't happen to everyone, otherwise I doubt it'd be open, but it has had a huge number of the same reported injury.

Well Jeff told us that someone did guess correctly in a post, but that post was not found here.
In other words, anyone who has posted a guess has been wrong. So, that eliminates the 500 footer, the water coaster, the dueling coasters...
Im wondering what site Jeff was browsing when he saw the post that "got it right".

I think the WWL station will be used like the Viper station for El Toro at SFGAdv. Link: http://www.themeparkreview.com/eltoro/eltoro1.htm

Doing the tall white wall thing this time around seems like it would be too costly for something they are just going to scrap at the end of the season.
I think Cedar Point makes plenty of money that they wouldn't think twice about how much a white wall would cost. If they can afford to make a multi-million dollar ride every year or every other year they sure as heck wouldnt be worried about money loss into a temporary fence.
