If I would have to take a guess, I'd say Millennium Force has been a pretty successful addition to the park....soo, why not add another closely related ride??
In addition, this ride probably requires more site work due to the type of low-lying soil we're dealing with.
Maybe we're dealing with one heck of a 500-foot-beast, but I wouldn't put all my cookies in one jar... ;-)
Is it just me or does that piece of track have an ever-so-slight curve to it?
methinks slight curves = very long pullouts/very wide turns/very large radii for inversions...
Who wants a inversion record breaking mega-looper? ;)

OR.....
it could just be the first piece of a turn or pullout. It's no big deal.. it's just one piece of track.
We've established a company and that's ALL we know about it.
From one piece you can deduce many things. It's triangular. They only use that type of track where the forces dictate that it couldn't be held up by their flat track. As I said in my post, it could definitely be for a pullout or turn, but I think you missed my point about the radius of the curvature. You can take away quite a bit of information from that piece of track by looking at past Intamin coasters.

Right now I'm getting down on my knees and praying for a 4-D. I don't really see a lot of reasons for CP to go back to Intamin than to try out the new ground-breaking model of 4-D. Arrow's model is inconsistent and has almost been as much as a nightmare as TTD. CP wouldn't want to deal with that so they might take a chance of the new Intamin 4-D if Intamin could prove to them that it will work.
lol, so does anyone wanna email me these pix? so many people are talking about an actual picture of the actual track, but I have yet to see them! or give me a link to a site or something? All I've seen is blue tarps!

The person who took the photo has said that the piece of track is without a doubt square. And there is definatly more than one piece of track. Not that this really gives us any clue as to what type of coaster it will be. MF has all three types of intamin track for example. So does Volcano at PKD.

Great, another Intamin...MF is amazing but CP has an Intamin obsession it seems. Its great that they are expanding and building more attractions, but with the downtime of TTD, why would CP try another prototype ride from Intamin especially. So 4D is deffinetly out of the question. I hate to say it, but Aquatrax seems like a great possibility and a dissapointment for all the people on this site who wanted to see another great coaster.

I took the below picture in August of last year. Is that the swan boat pond? And are the stairs that the green arrow is pointing at for Thunder Canyon? What is the queue circled in red for? In those set of pictures of the 2007 project area that are around one of them seems to be taken from the same general area, but shows right through to the lake. I can't quite picture everything in my head yet. I need to see the site to understand everything in perspective.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
If it was a water coaster than why would they start now? There starting this project before they even started dragster.
I'm gussing big for something that has started construction right now.
Walt's pictures of the construction zone are pretty interesting. It looks like a lot less space from the sky.
Wow that site does look smaller then I thought, but they still could expand outwards.

After seeing those pictures I am certain that this coaster will have a steep lift hill or a launch. There is just no room for a regular lift. If there wasn't Intamin style" track under the blue tarp I would almost be positive that this would be a dive machine because of the layout of the footers and the area of the space it is in. But seeing these pictures also leads me to believe that my original theory was right. This could be an "X car coaster" which has square track in it.
where are you guys seeing these new pictures? i checked all the photo galleries and i'm not finding anything.
After all that I've read and seen up until now (including the aerial photos and covered track piece) it dawned on me that maybe the, "put 2 and 2 together" hint simply means they are installing 2 new water rides beside the 2 existing water rides. An Aquatrax and something else. I wonder if the something else is a flat with water added, like the Mondial Splash Over (Top Spin with water jets).
This isn't exactly earth shattering I know, but I don't recall seeing it mentioned yet. I'm not a fan of the water rides but I know that families sure are.
The one sign says "We are goin in a whole new direction" I guess Aquatrax make sense then. But those are some Big footers....
