I saw a site that had the pics of under the tarp....and it does look like Intamin track. The horizontal beam is square and there's the cross beam that goes between the horizontal beams as with typical Intamin style track.

And I agree with JW Addington, red doesnt seem like a good color for a water ride.......IMO it just doesnt make sense.

Where'd you find that pic at? I noticed that it is stamped virtual midway (Walt's old site). I'm curious if someone snagged the domain and is using it again.

It's from the Top Thrill Dragster construction in photos.

All the Dragster construction pictures that I had on Virtual Midway are in our Construction gallery. Here's #1 of 10 - http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=351

Wow, my camera was craptacular back then. :)

You know, that didn't even click in my head that that was a piece of dragster track. This is turning into one of those days. And its a $%*#@% Friday too, not even a Monday.

Zamperla.

John

when did the track for MF and TTD arrive at the park?

TTD 120mph's avatar

Even though the pic was deleted, it was the one I was describing.

Oh and Zamperla makes little coasters.:) Their track style is similar but it's off a little bit.

I saw all of the pics that guy took, and he probably crossed the fence to get some of them. In other words, he did a no-no.

I've heard people talk about a rock pond or something about rocks. Anyone care to fill me in?

TTD 120mph's avatar

Well there are rocks around the pond........:)

Nothin special about them.....

Is there any significance of the rocks? Seems strange for people to make a big deal about rocks around a pond.

we're talking about rocks now?? LOL!! you guys can't be serious?? they put rocks along the water's edge for maintenance reasons. that way they can just spray the rocks for weeds instead of trying to mow or trim right along the water's edge. they're also there to compensate for fluctuations in water level.

they're JUST ROCKS people. geesh.

Read my post again (I edited it).....what it says now is what I was trying to point out.

In regard to the "rock pond"... I think it is in refrence to the current state of the Project 2007 construction site.

I've not been hearing as much about the 2007 B&M flyer prediction. Most people are talking about a 4D or some kind of water ride. I think that a flyer would be pretty cool. I personally want to see 500+ feet and 140+ mph, but I don't want to get my hopes up.

There's a picture on another site that show's Intamin Track under that blue tarp.

It's not a picture of the track, just the wind was blowing against the tarp, making it brushing up against the track piece, and it was the outline of quad-rail Intamin track...

If it is a Intamin Aquatrax, it will be interesting to see what they do with it, it seems they only look good with massive theming. And water + Frontier dosen't go together to me, I thought the 'Frontier' was in the desert...

I was looking forward to a cool ride, like a Floorless. So much disappointment and the rides not even built yet...

Unless there's pics that I haven't seen, there's no way of confirming that that's Intamin track under the tarp. Looks like it could be, yes, but you can't make enough of it out to be completely sure.

Sadly, I have a feeling someone will get in serious trouble tomorrow for pulling up that tarp...
