News: Cedar Point blog shows footers at WWL site - Part II

That's a good way to interpret "we're going in a whole new direction," Impulse-ive but I can't imagine building another midway back there... If you're referring to their comment about the path less taken on the onpoint blog, I took it to mean you could see more if you took some of the less traveled paths in the park... like back by the refreshment stand past wave swinger, or on the path that leads to Mean Streak. But again, just my guess.

And why would anyone question Jeff's knowledge of the new ride? as I found out with previous new rides, you just have to find a construction worker to get all the details!

As if they'll just openly tell someone.:)

Besides, all they know are bluesprints.

Acutally, today at lunch there was a crew over by the area, and a construction worker came up to talk to them, and actually did an on-camera interview with them. He, however, knew nothing; only what he was to be doing. Just like someone mentioned would be the case.

A girl that I used to work with, her dad was on the crew building TTD. He knew exactly what was being built, but signed a contract with CP and his union that didn't allow him to leak info. If he did there were consequences. For the workers sake don't ask them questions, or risk their jobs in anyway. The job market sucks already and it would be a shame to get one of them fired for something like that.

Can't wait till the 6th to see more pics of the site!

Reading some of the clues (put 2 and 2 together, footer geometry) and some other information that may hold to be true (Red Intamin track, signs that state "We're goin' in a whole new direction!" and "Here we go again!") makes me think a possible Intamin Ball coaster. The pictures I saw at the Euro Amusement show 2005 shows a close resemblance those clues.

When asked about when we could expect an announcement, Kinzel replied "Oh no, do you think it's going to be ready for Saturday?!"

I'm not sure that bright red track would make much sense in Frontiertown. Then again, Skyhawk is red and blue...

Ok, I just saw the pics everyone is talking about on another site. Whoever took them has some guts, I will say that because they are really close-up. What ever is under that tarp is indeed red steel but you can't tell for sure if it is track or not. Could be a lot of things.

They were using a zoom lens.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Nobody except the high ranking executives know what "project 2007" is. I guarantee you this. They would be violating their fiduciary duty to shareholders.

No matter how many rules and regulations there are, people will violate them. And given Jeff's close ties to and rock-solid reputation with the park, its not surprising that he would know. Whomever gave Jeff this information did so knowing that the secret would be safe. And guess what - the information is safe, else we would have known last fall. Regardless of whether or not you think he has the info is irrelevant. Jeff knows. Give it up already.

As for the track itself, yeah, its certainly looking like red IAG track, though a 4D seems unlikely. (Of course, I'm always looking for reasons to doubt a 4D :)) Would CP trust Intamin to build their first 4D? Considering the loading & capacity issues with X (built by Arrow), wouldn't it be wiser to go with a company that knows what they're doing? Just a thought.

EDIT: That video gives a darn good idea of the scope of the site. I'd venture to say NOT an aquatrax.

Brandon

I saw some pix, and Im just surprised how bare it is. You can see the town hall from Perimeter Road. I also saw how they compared the footers to Tatsu's footers, and they were shockingly similar.

No offense, but are they similar because they are round and have bolts in them? Because that could be said for quite a few coasters.

Brandon

By George I've got it! They are going to be a bunch of 100' tall flagpoles celebrating the nations of the world.

Which George, Chief? GWB?

Could "a whole new direction" mean it goes backwards? It would be Cedar Point's first.

Hey, I heard a rumor that Top Thrill Dragster is sinking...

Not every phrase has a secret, cryptic meaning to it. But, perhaps its not a reference to the ride, but rather the plans for the area. Y'know, from what it is now to a more "Americana" theme, akin to what they have done with Skyhawk?

Brandon

Actually, I have seen several pictures of Tatsu and CP put side-by-side and there are some very striking differences.

But then again, they'are all just concrete clumps and bolts, right?

As a park employee, I had a construction worker who had laid the footers for TTD start a conversation with me, and just OFFERED the information on TTD. Not how tall/fast it was, but he compared it to the similar ride at KBF, but said it was a launch, just up the arch and back down, and that it would be the tallest/fastest. I didn't pry for information or encourage him, he seemd proud to be sharing the knowledge. I have no doubt he signed a confidentiality agreement, but that didn't seem to stop him. He was just looking for people to listen. Obviously I could say nothing since I was an employee and liked my job... and the fact that I didn't know if he was just a kook making it all up.
