According to Screamscape (I know its not a reliable source, but they were right with Maverick) there have been reports that Cedar Point may get a new epic Intamin flume ride in the near future that will "surely boast world records of some kind". This could mean a ride like Perilous Plunge at Knott's or something totally new. Sounds pretty good to me! Also, in the latest OnPoint blog "Now, The Hard Part", they say that "it will be a busy winter". Interesting...
I would much rather see a new log flume ride. If I wanted to get soaked, I can go on snake river falls or thunder.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

They were right only when they leaked the information from the press kit before they were supposed to release any information. He is scum. Besides, when you post every piece of garbage that someone from an anonymous email address sends you, you're bound to get one right once in a while.

And hopefully Mean Streak still gets re tracked next season.
Mean Streak, like any other wood coaster, is in a perpetual state of "retracking". Its the nature of the beast. There is nothing special happening during the off-season.

Yeah I don't really know why they'd spend the capital to replace SRF. There's nothing wrong with SRF. It runs very reliably, and gets you good and soaked in the summer heat. Another traditional log flume would be great, but I just don't see it happening. Here's to looking forward to Holiday World next year :)

Well, WWL was almost 25 years old. It was falling apart and not worth the effort to move it. At the time the other one was ripped out, there was still one in the park, so it made sense that they didn't need two. And, if I remember the stories right, this one was also falling apart.

Don't know about anybody else, but my anticipation for Pilgrim's Plunge has dropped way off the last few weeks. Now the only interesting thing I see going for it is the weird, crossing elevator lift. Otherwise, SRF (itself a boring ride experience) has more going for it -- at least you get to go through a tunneled semi-circle at the top.

I know I'm not one to post on what I would like to see, but a flume ride like White Water Landing, would be nice. With a little more soakness to it. I always liked WWL and every park should have a ride like that. Something you can ride to get a semi-cool down on during the summer. Even during the early fall when it's still somewhat warm out would be good. Just my opinion.
11 years.
Two things:
First, the last two issues of ACE News have leaked information about Cedar Point's as yet unannounced water ride.
Second, I did hear a rumor that Snake River Falls was history, but on closing day I noticed that one of the boats had been partially disassembled. This suggests to me (and remember, I have NO inside information) that Snake River Falls is probably staying. Why? Because if they were going to remove the ride, we would see evidence of ride demolition on closing weekend (stripped out station, for instance). And even if that work had not yet begun, it would be reasonable to assume that they would NOT begin performing seasonal maintenance on the boats. Instead, they'd have thrown the boats on a flatbed trailer and sent them to Dorney Park by now.
But then, there were trucks marked "Welders" parked under Snake River Falls on Closing Day, and there is that somewhat persistent rumor. But a flume back there would have to either make use of space under Snake River Falls and over on the Millennium Force Island, or it would sit in the park's somewhat newly established boneyard*.

Not that it's an indication of anything, but the webcam mounted to Snake River Falls has been down for quite a some time now. The last image captured was on September 30th. And since then we haven't heard a peep from T&T about it.

I was going to bring that up. It's kind of an odd occurance though. They usually let us know. Hmm ;)

Well maybe the late start is because it is a flume ride and wont be ready when the park opens. Why not keep working until the the end of may and have the "warmer" month of June open the ride? While walking through Terror Island this fall, alot of people were commenting "wow there is a lot of room here they could put a ride back here".
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
