New ride... place your bets!

Hey Rideman, must have took some detective work to figure that out. I saw the marks and what I got out if was the thought of a little kid playing with orange sidewalk chalk :).
Well, if what I've been led (key word ;) I don't know, I've only drawn a conclusion based on hints from several places) to believe is true, I'll say this:

1.  I still want to see a good CCI woodie at some point. :)

2.  The new addition will kick major ass.  A certain upstart may have declared war over the past 2 seasons, but Cedar Point is about show how to WIN.

Well my bet's on an Impuls where Chaos, Troika, and Dodgem is. I know they aren't going to put in a Thrust Air, in fact I thought that Stan said they were having problems with the one in Japan, my it was just a roumer, I can't rember. Oh well...

I still say a vertically launched coaster would be fun. Not an Impulse design...but one that actually tilts the train into the vertical position before launching it using magnets or air. Somehow I see Intamin being the company to try something like that.

That's my wacky little guess...but take it worth less than a grain of salt please! :o) We'll find out soon enough.

"Legend is a wooden Jesus"

Hey everyone, been a while since my last post.  Anyway, I think enough hints have been sprinkled about to make an educated guess.  I don't want to say anything, for fear of feeling sheepish on announcement day.  If it is what I think it is, then all I have to say is "whoa"(in a good way). ;)

So yeah.. guess... hmm

Let's go with a quadruple impulse and a mad mouse near the beach.

JEFF! WHEN IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT?!?!?!
Um........ A floorless Intamin Impulse coaster........   or a 300 + foot B&M coaster .....   DAMN  I haven't been this excited since I was 5 on Christmas Eve...............
How the hell did I get sucked out of my lurking spot and into this thread.

I think CP will throw more fuel to the fire about coaster counts and "is it a coaster" speculation, by giving us two or even oddly enough three impulse/launch coasters.  With the possibililty of each of the two/three coaster tracks being a different ride layout with in each other.  Thus being mind blowing, adding more arguments for the darkside of coaster enthusiasts and also a clever use for the ride name Cluster....you know the rest.

has anyone seen the movie The Haunting or The Haunted. (I can't remember which one,I always get them too mixed up). That is the kind of rollercoaster I would want. One that is going up the hill slow, then shoots you out when you get to the middle of the hill.
The movie was House on Haunted Hill, and the ride was Incredible Hulk at IOA.  They shot the movie before the park opened.  Personally I think that would rock to have one like The Hulk because that is one of my favorite rides!!

I think we can narrow the the list down by thinking of all the launched oasters out there.  Something like the Rockin' Rollercoaster would be cool too!

Although I havn't had the time to read the entire thread yet, My initial thought was a woodie "remember how we followed Magnum"  but that may have been Light House Point.  Now, I really don't know.  Now, maybee the "surprise" isn't as good as we all think it may be.  It could be several small coasters to get the record back or somthing.  Not that a smaller coaster would necessarily be bad, but just building them to build them is nothing like CP.  CP likes to go for quality not quanity.
CP FANatic, I do remember reading that CP people liked the Rockin' Roller Coaster.  Hmmmm...
Whatever it is, I'm getting anxious.

Millennium Force - world's first and greatist gigacoaster!

Jeff has given us more than enough clues... obviously Oceana and that area will be changing dramatically.

Who knows what type of ride they'll get, but if I had I guess I would go w/ and Intamin somethin'-another.  MF was a success and when your on a roll, just roll w/ it... (ie Arrow and B&M).

This should be fun and I have no doubt that the people that are "in-the-know" are laughing their heads off!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

I think my cousin is full of BS so I am going to call it my self...

a) cci b) flying or c) floorless

But, I am going to go with C. Dunno why, just sounds good right now.

This has been discussed in another post, but it seems doubtful that Ocean Motion will be moving anywhere. The front of the ride near the entrance has recently been re-landscaped, and I can't imagine CP going to the trouble to plant bushes and so on if they are planning on moving the ride.
The only thing we know is that we really don't know.  Oh well!  I'll try my best to not think about it so I can REALLY be blown away when it happens.  I got some Thirty Years' War to study anyway, that is almost better than riding the new 2002 coaster(end sarcasm)!

I'll place my bet- Arrow 64-person supertrain.  I know its a longshot, but I hope I made some people laugh!

Could 2002 be a precursor for 2003?  You know build something now, then add to it next year?

Jeff also hinted that you won't be able to see BOTH the lake and the beach.  What could be built that would let you see one or the other?  Hmmm...  Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way.
