New ride... place your bets!

Someone mentioned an issue of capacity. So I can make things even less clear than mud consider a few things.

First, any ride at CP has good capacity because they train the crews right.

Second, you can always do something bigger and better to get more capacity.

Third, there are so many damn rides in the park now that, assuming relatively flat attendance year to year, the crowds are more spread out than ever (see: Magnum lines).

Once you consider that, you can't really rule out any ride, can you? Or maybe I'm just distracting you from the real issues?

Ive been hearing Intamin launch with a record breaking tophat.

I would be shocked if Cedar Point puts in ANY version of Superman:The Escape. The ride is a SNOOZER! It isn't thrilling in the least and while the track IS high and the ride IS fast I would be shocked to learn that you travel over 150 into the air. The wait for this ride is the ONLY thing amazing about. EVERYONE I saw got off of this ride with a groan. I not only question as to if S:TE is a roller coaster - but if it's a thrill ride at all! I will CRY if Cedar Point ads this "ride" to their collection.

jeff will you just tell us and get it over with??? i don't wanna wait till tomorrow :)

Whats so new about that though Mantis Crew?

I doubt CP would get a carbon copy of an impulse. They have to show up that park to the east and get a bigger, taller, faster, "cooler" version.

Oh, and if you can dispatch an impulse at under one minute intervals the capacity is near 1000 PPH.

Matt, it crossed my mind too that it could be something like Volcano. I think this is probably just wishful thinking though considering what Jeff has said about a probable re-igniting of the "definition of a coaster" debate.

Whatever CP builds, I'm sure it will amaze and thrill the majority of us, just like everything else the park has erected...:)

If something even remotely like S:TE comes to CP, you know Intamin will have made improvements on the design. With that in mind, it will most likely be a prototype of some kind. We all have seen how well prototypes have been doing in the past few years. (Mr. Freeze, S;TE, Stealth, Perilous Plunge, Deja Vu, X)

BTW, Anyone who calles S:TE a snoozer probably has never actually been on it. 2 weeks ago I was able to ride S:TE 25 times in less than 90 minutes. Many of the launches went almost all the way up the tower. It was awesome!

What do you mean? It says Suspended Impulse COASTER with a twist. What part of that statement indicates Intamin doesnt consdier it a coaster?

I think he is talking about S:TE. Click on MF on the page and it says.

Thats not to say S:TE isn't a giga coaster ;) . Is it? Is is not? Who cares, only the marketing people are going to loose sleep over it (yeah right).
