New ride... place your bets!

oh all right, i suppose making this thread 5 pages long doesn't do much good, i'll just sit back, wait, and maybe go outside for awhile
My what an entertaining thread.  Entertaining enough to pull me out of lurkdom! ;)  You can rest assured that next year's addition will certainly put a new "twist" on Cedar Point.

Hotel Breakers 2001
I had a thought last night.  What if CP is adding the dreaded ast Pass throught the park?  I hope that does not happen, like almost everyone here.  But would this really be that surprusing?
While browsing the Intinim site I found this: http://www.intaminworldwide.com/Ride_Trade/fs_main.html. No info about the ride is given, just Fasination.  Kina ironic that CP just took an attraction out with the same name huh?  I don't really know what to think of that.
I really hope this is everything that Jeff is hypeing us up for.  It would really stink if this turned out to be a let down.
Now let's all think, what is the least likely thing that CP would do.  That must be what they are adding next year...or is it?
(But Jeff, what are we supposed to stand the wait if we can't watch your grass grow ;))

Me, I'm still holding out hope for the world's longest, fastest ... bar.  Something that serves real Irish beer on draught (Smithwick's, Guinness, Kilkenny, I'm easy) ... the "twist" everyone's talking about could be for the martini's ... something that could spice up (some would say start) CP's nightlife ... Hey, another coaster would be great, but I've got my priorities ...
I'm not sure if you've noticed JT Coaster, but there's grass outside too.
Spewey, I like your thinking. :)

That page is the intro page for their ride trade section. Sorry it isn't something more exciting than that (though I'd add the site is poorly designed and doesn't really tell you anything about anything).

I'm not hyping anything. Some people will say, "Wow! Cool!" Others will say, "That sucks, it's not the invertedfloorlessunderwatergigawoodie I wanted!"

Yeah I agree Jeff Intamin's site is pretty lousy.  It barely says anything about who they are and info at all.  I also see why people will be dissapointed.  Some people don't like MF because it has a cable lift and ruins the height, also because it was designed for speed and not an airtime machine (although it still does".

I was wondering how they will announce the ride.  Do they just call up websites or news things?  Or put up a sign?  Where do YOU find out to let out the info?

Any coaster at CP is amazing to me. CP could build a standard boomerage and I would be happy (although they can't due to Vekoma's bankruptcy)! Have faith in our loved park!
I want to come here and see a new thread with all the details :)

I'm now thinking "impulse"  If you look at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, the Superman Ultimate Escape has a "twist" in the track when you go forward.  This could be the "twist" people are talking about.  Also the "shock" I hear about (is it for this year or next?) could be the electricity needed to power it.

I, personally, hope that if it is like the Superman Ultimate Escape that it is a solid U as oppose to the twist because I think the twist in the track on the forward side ruined the free fall experience.  I will say that the solid vertical backward side is fun the first time you go into it.

I still just was something that launches! I think we need one. I never been on one! So, if it's a launcher, I'm happy! :)

Hey, I know what they're getting. It's an attraction. That's all there is to it!

-----------------

The "twist" people are refering to is definitely in the name, as the survey would suggest...Ballistic/Wicked Twister.

Many people on these boards seem to believe that it will be an impulse, and as a business stand point, it's a good decision. What better to put down your competition than the same type of coaster only bigger, faster, and better?

My mom's friends sisters cousins best friend knows a guy who knows this chick who heard from his daughters friends teacher who taught a former employee of the Point who found out the other day that they're building some type of coaster from B&M.

(sorry, just had to say it.)

I, however, think differently. I'm sticking with the Intamin Impulse theory, but at the same time sticking with the Boardwalk Project. Somewhere in this thread I found the idea of taking the Impulse coaster and painting it so it looks like a woodie. When I was in Disneyland almost two years ago, I could've sworn that they were building a wood coaster. It looked that realistic to me (of course, I wasn't a coaster enthusiast back then.) If they can do it at the Mouse... Human Trap, then they could definitely do it at the Point.

However, I shall also sit back and wait. Throwin' in my two and 1/2 cents...

Well Gee, where have you been? It will NOT be anything like S:TE though, that ride is a distaster. I've been on it once, sure it was fun but the cost and everything, no If they were to build a launced ride it would be an impulse...

Well unless Kinzel is someone that likes to start controversy or just flat out doesn't know what he's talking about, I still have to put some weight in his statement a while back. "Remember how we followed up Magnum".

I'm still going with wood!
