As it was mentioned above, the station does not really have to be 100 X 50. It can be anything that when multiplied gives you roughly 5,000 square feet. S:UE contains roughly 350 feet of straight track, and I would say about 2/3 of that is covered by the station. So let's say is is 200 feet long, which I think is pretty close. That would make the station be about 200 ft by 25 ft.

See, now we are concentrating on something tangible!  I would guess the square footage to be accurate as that had to be a public document turned into the City of Sandusky.
hmmm...the speculation has some evidence now...I am going to go out on a limb here and say that Cedar Point is building something for 2002...

anyone wanna help clarify for me what michigan's adventure is getting? i'm lost here....................like normal :)
Really floridaguy2002, how did you ever come to that conclusion...?

I'm afraid you're right, Cpbound, I can't back that statement up with any reliable sources, statements, or likewise.
You should be ashamed of yourself, spreading rumors about Cedar Point building something...;)
Man this is sad.  One day everyone is getting mad for not expressing sarcasm.....now it is all over the place.  Oh yeah, I don't think CP will be getting an impulse UNLESS it has a stupendous change in design.  Going against the crowd isn't all that bad (at least I don't get beat up for it here!)

Yeah, but why go against the crowd and say it's not an impulse when there's a line of footers there laid in such a fashion as to make the ride's identity anything but uncertain?

I give props to the people who, based on Dave's measurements, extrapolated the height of the thing. Very nice.

"The floor plan sketch, designed by architect Terry Ross of the planning and design department at Cedar Point, shows a station design with a control room, a queuing area, loading and unloading areas, tracks traveling from both sides of the loading area and six operator booths.

The design shows room for 32 riders -- 16 rows of two. The design prints did not show how large or fast the new ride would be."

well, after reading this article I'm putting the possiblity of a superman type ride aside....they bashed MM for Superman so much, why would they want to build one?
pezmanguy3,

This is the only thing deterring me away from believing that CP is getting an impulse (which I still think they are).  This is a pretty blatant double-standard on CP's part if they build a shuttle and want to call it a coaster all of a sudden.

Another thing,

If that submitted design is accurate, and the trains end up being 16 cars long, I'm thinking that it will definitely be a dual track design.  Jeff has hinted at a cure for the capacity issues and a 32-passenger train ain't it.

Now two of them on the other hand....

Would it be possible to have a station similar to Mr. Freeze on an impulse?  That is just as good as a dual track.  And a 16 row train is two more than the other impulses.
Hmm... after reading that article, my bet is that there will actually be 3 trains, and 3 tracks in the station.  1 track would have the running train on it, and the other 2 will be loading and unloading riders.  This makes sense because the article said there would be 6 control booths.  WOW!  Would that be a first to have 2 transfer tracks on a coaster?
If it is going to be an impulse, then it should be a dueling/racing/double.

If it were one impulse, then think of CP crowds + an impulse's ride capacity.

Admission to Cedar Point - $39.00
Waiting in line for Millennium Force - One Hour & 30 Minutes
Getting a front seat ride on Millennium's yellow train at night for the last time - Priceless!

I think a racing/dueling impulse would be cool... But let's see if those footers get poured in two rows...

CP has to do something original with this ride. I don't think it will be too much like the other impulse coasters.

A lap bar is all you need!
Actually, the Intamin Impulses have 2 rows/car.  16 CARS would be 32 rows would be 64 passengers!

The article DOES say "16 rows", though.

Just nitpicking...
