New for 2015

If they give up on finding the entrance that easily, they didn't want to ride it to begin with.

You are so right there Thabto. 90% of people going to CP didn't want to ride it to begin with.

^ But of course do not forget that if it had floorless trains 94.8% would want to ride it...

As a big coaster enthusiast and big Cedar Point fan I for one am all about seeing new roller coasters at the park. What Cedar Point needs in my opinion is something like an S&S Worldwide 4th dimensional roller coaster such as Dinoconda or X2. They both get incredible reviews, look awesome and keep people coming back for more. CP needs to get back in the main spotlight like they did between 2000-2007 with Intamin. People wanted to go ride epic roller coasters and CP was the place to go for that. Gatekeeper is ok but its nothing insane. They need something major and different to they're lineup.

Maybe - have to just wait and see wont we.

I know - a B&M inverted and lets hype it up! Oh never mind -KI already did that. How about another hyper? Oppps - Carowinds gets that. Maybe a 4d interactive dark ride? Nope CW already beat us too it. So sad, seems like CP is not getting the love it used to. :)

Cedar Point's not getting the love it used to?

Cedar Fair is spending $60 million on its hotels over the next couple of years. That seems like an awful lot of love to me.

Nope, not at all

Since there has not been recent comments or clues or an announcement date for the announcement.

Maybe the CP origianl plans for 2015 have been changed.

Maybe we are getting something more then they had originally planned and are waiting for solid final plans before announcing the announcement date for the announcement.

Wishful thinking :)

the problem I see with a monorail is the cost. Monorails are expensive. Sao Paulo's monorail system works out to $50 million per mile. The Las Vegas Monorail cost nearly $150 million per mile.

Keep in mind that has more to do with the right-of-way than anything else. Real estate isn't exactly cheap in those places.

You missed the smiley I guess Noggin. Or you just felt the need to post. :)

The hotels should have been upgraded years ago! Every hotel room I have stayed in, and that's all of them, (cabins excluded) remind me of a trip back to late 80's early 90's - you know the decade Dick Kinzel was stuck in.

X2 is really jerky so i dont think ot would be good. They need the forst hyper woodie. Then CP would have 5 200+ coasters and market that

SV ruins all other rides.

I don't think that would happen. Wood coasters are higher maintenance than steel. Look at Mean Steak, it's a shadow of it's former self after being trimmed. I still enjoy it, but it's not what it once was.

Do all wooden coasters have to be walked every morning, because I know Blue Streak and Mean Streak both for sure are. What about like Gemini or CCMR?

I think if CP was looking into getting another wooden coaster, it should be like the Phoenix at Knoebels. Blue Streak and Mean Streak are good, but they just don't have that wild, unpredictable vibe.

I'd like to see a flying before 4d. But I'd love to see RMC

Aren't all the coasters walked every morning? I thought they were, but I might be wrong...

The lift hills maybe, but Mean Streak and Blue Streak are the only ones where the entire course is walked and checked.

The Cedar Fair wooden coaster of choice in recent years has been the GCI variety. Go watch videos of Renegade, Prowler, and Gold Striker on YouTube. They all look 10 times more interesting than Mean Streak.

I want a brand new B&M that breaks the record soon to be set by Fury. If not, a Dive machine would be nice. Love me some B&Ms, with high capacity and good uptime percentages!

For this year, the flat ride by Raptor will have to do.

Absolutely. The post I initially wrote went into exquisite detail about the costs involved; I know that my delight in the details is not shared by most, so I edit ruthlessly before hitting "submit reply".
