^^Yeah, that's what I was referring to. Sorry for the confusion.

Tony Clark led everyone off all of these hints and clues as if Cedar Point is getting this new incredible roller coaster...
No, he most certainly did not.
A handful of wishful thinkers may have been beating the "new coaster" drum, but anyone looking at the facts knows better.

Tony has hardly given us any clues at all. Clearly he didn't need to in order to stoke interest amongst the rumor mill. He was definitely saying that there were 4.5 months until calendar year 2015 rather than an announcement.. It's little more than wishful thinking to think otherwise.

Enlighten us DJ, do you know something that everybody else doesn't. If the kid thinks its gonna be a coaster, let the kid believe its gonna be a coaster. Last time I checked only higher up cedar fair officials know what's coming (not djdaemon)
I'm sorry if I sound mean but I'm tired of people saying other peoples ideas can't happen' cause it can, not like they're saying there gonna build a 500 ft dive machine with a 200ft loop
Just speaking personally, but I've kind of had my interest reach a plateau and then start back down. A couple of weeks ago, I was checking frequently to see if there were any updates, but I guess now with the kids in school, and football and other stuff starting back up, I'm just not as into it. I'm sure once they announce, I'll be interested to see what it is, but until then, I'm kind of in a meh state.
Well I don't think we know anything more today than we did on the 4th of July weekend. That is when the statement was released about whatever is new in 2015 being geared towards teens and thrill seekers. It is easy to get in that meh state towards it.
One can only talk about floorless trains on Mantis, and a 746' aqua trax for so long without getting a migraine.
I was just looking back at the "What's New for 2014" page on cedarpoint.com and noticed the sketch for the revamped Gemini Midway, and realised that there is a good possibility that what is behind the paper in Tony's tweet is likely the sketch for whatever changes are coming for 2015
Geared toward teens and thrill seekers?
New for 2015 - Cedar Point is now allowing selfies on all rides!

You might be right. It could be a site plan showing changes coming to the Challenge Park area. Maybe some improvements over by the Blue Streak? Both those spots seem kind of desolate compared to the rest of the park and could certainly be more pedestrian friendly.

Nice one, good form!!
I was talking to someone last night I think the announcement will be AFTER halloweekends like 1 day after on closing day kind of weird that there is no halloweekends closing day the website said special activites I think a 2015 announcement would be a fun activity and special one.

I know something that some people seem to not know, and that is that if they were going to build a coaster of substantial size, there'd be more going on than a few spray paint markings. So if you're hoping for "this new incredible roller coaster", you're almost certainly going to be disappointed.
If the kid thinks its gonna be a coaster, let the kid believe its gonna be a coaster.
I don't care what he thinks it is, so much as I care about completely making things up. No one at the park has done anything to indicate that they're building "this new incredible roller coaster" for 2015. Wild speculation is one thing, making stuff up out of thin air is another.
...I'm tired of people saying other peoples ideas can't happen' cause it can...
Sure, it could technically still happen (i.e. "this new incredible roller coaster"). It would completely contradict every shred of evidence, but it could technically still happen.
And it won't. ;)

How do you feel about Santa Claus? He's as made up as it gets - do you put up with that non-sense?
I get that you and several others cannot stand the speculation. Why can't the kids have some fun on a roller coaster website? No one's character is being defamed, no one is being physically hurt, the park is not being slandered. I don't understand why something like speculating about a new coaster causes some so much grief. If someone wants to think that the "clues" mean we are going to get a 500 footer so be it. Just smile when the park proves them wrong.
Or maybe I should just take my own advice and ignore the "no, no, no" posts from all of the fact checkers.
I would think that many people come to this website in order to learn and hear some Cedar Point-based wisdom and educated ideas from people who have been around the sun a few more times than them.
The thread is about what's actually coming to Cedar Point in 2015. Is there room for wild speculation? Of course. Is there room for shooting down wild speculation based on nothing that contradicts what those of us who have actually watched this process play out more than once? of course.
If I genuinely believed that there was a chance that a new B & M giga coaster was coming to the park, I would appreciate DJ's honesty in showing me how wrong I am, and why.
There's a difference between evidence-based speculation and discussion, and wish-listing. Then again, this is probably what happens when you have absolutely nothing to go on in terms of clues.
Incidentally, that lack of clues, hints, and teasers is actually communicating something to you about what isn't coming, and less about what really is.

That's a great way to put it. Thank you Shawn.

I agree wholeheartedly with those two paragraphs. But I must have missed the part where this thread is about what is actually coming in 2015. Can a thread that was started way back in June about what someone is hoping for really be about what is actually coming?
I think that this stopped being a thread about what actually is coming in 2015 about 81 pages ago. :) It sounds like we are all equally in the dark here for the time being.
With a lack of solid information it leaves the conversation open to speculation. Not every idea that lands in this forum is going to meet everyone's criteria of plausibility. If you see a comment that sounds wild and crazy and you have some insight to offer the poster then there's certainly no harm in sharing your view. That's why we are all here. But not every idea needs to be called out on the carpet either. It's up to the original poster to convince the readers that their idea has merit. Sometimes I see posts that I can tell are just wishful thinking and are intended as such. They are purely for fun, and without a solid logical basis of support that's how most people probably interpret them.
So, back to what's coming in 2015...

I guess when I look at the "New in 2015" thread, I see it as 1) what do we know, 2) what do we learn from CP and other sources of "evidence", and 3) what can we realistically guess what is arriving based on that.
I think they typically start out as nothing more than wild speculation. But, based on what we have been told (and what we have not been exposed to) communicates a lot about what may or may not be coming.
Meaning, anything huge, like a big coaster (meaning something along the lines of Fury 325), is out of the question. It's just not happening. Then again, no matter what this park does, people get upset and lose their collective minds.
Last year's additions and improvements were very impressive to me. My 2 year-old daughter's favorite ride in the world right now is "Eagles". I've been nothing less than completely impressed with Ouimet's vision playing out in the Cedar Fair chain. Fury 325 is simply breathtaking. The parks are transforming with each coming year. Be excited. :)
