New for 2015

Yeah, and let's not forget Whyte Lightning.^

Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......

^That was never trademarked or ever really used during the 2009 teaser campaigns. There were clues and signs that pointed to it, but it really picked up because "White Lightnin" used to be a coaster at Carowinds. For that campaign, it just happened to be a tie-in between the three parks that were getting big attractions for "Moonshine". The two NASCAR Themed Coasters (in which NASCAR started with moonshine running) and Shoot the Rapids, which is themed around moonshine. The furthest it got was with the "Does Lightning Stryke Twyce?" and the picture of the white lightning bolt on many of the sites. I think at one point the name was finally mentioned as "Whyte Lightning" but nothing much after.

Rougarou has been hinted at in "Camp Rou" and all that stuff...but its the same as Whyte Lightning, never officially said. It is trademarked however, which may lead to a different outcome, but we'll see what/if anything happens with Centurion too.

Repeat after me:

Cedar Point does not need to expand.
Cedar Point does not need a parking deck.
Cedar Point does not need a monorail.
Cedar Point does not need a fleet of buses.
Cedar Point does not need to build out onto Lake Erie.
Cedar Point does not a super duper new rolly coaster.

In fact, there's not much the park 'needs', per se, other than continuing investment in infrastructure and services, and a nominal display of investment in a new attraction. CP is a mature, sprawling park that now only requires the occasional removal and replacement of aging rides, whilst maintaining its robust turnstile click-count.

But I still wouldn't mind to see a dark ride or two.

They don't need a fleet of buses other than the one they already have. ;)

While a new extreme coaster or 'flat' ride(dark or not)seems great, I feel additional improvements could be made elsewhere, in addition to whats planned by CP already. Maybe finding a way to reduce food cost to the customers. Maybe investing(training) in a better way to monitor (enforce)what people try to carry into the line ques, and slowing down the loading process for others.Invest in more cold water drinking fountains. This could reduce the wait time at food stands for people ordering food also, as many are just in line for free water. The Mantis entry could be re-located. I bet ridership is potentially down because people can't figure out where to get in line.

The big sign that says Mantis isn't enough?

It's enough, but confusing where line begins. I've heard people state it looks like a dead end, lets walk to the other side and find the entrance. And so many people are in a hurry, they don't ask.

If they give up on finding the entrance that easily, they didn't want to ride it to begin with.

Signs, signs, everywhere a sign.

Speaking of signs, I think it would be nice if there were more signs directing people where the major rides are. I've noticed that they are only located in Frontiertown and I'm sure that would really help people.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

Careful...THABTO might tell you otherwise ;)

Especially Means Streak. That ride is hidden so well, yet it is on of the largest, structure wise, rides in the park. I think that's a reason why attendance on that ride is down too!

I just have a hard time believing that people can't find the entrance to Mantis, when there is a big sign right there on a main midway. What more do you need? If they give up because that way looks like a dead end, they are either stupid or didn't want to go on it to begin with.

Spekaing of that sign, it needs to be repaired. Some of the paint is chipped off and an antenna is missing. Sorry, just throwing that out there.

^^there's no problem finding Mean Streak. I remember in the 1990's the line being completely full. It was a fun line to wait in, and still one of my favorite que lines.

(While we're on the topic...) I hate Dragster's que because of the ugly wall that stands between the que and launch. Anyone know why it's there? It makes you feel like you're in a box.

Reminds me of RCT in so many ways! Maybe they should delete a section of path and make it more confusing....lol

Exactly. I can't stand tourists like that. For some reason, people who have never been to the park before and claim their experts by saying the Millennium Force goes upside down three times, get on my nerves./:|

I was thinking of RCT when I made the original post. Some guests in that game would say they can't find a ride when it's right there in front of them.

I'm not 100% sure, but just throwing a guess out:
Due to the wall being only near the lower section of the launch area (since the launch ascends gradually), I would say it's there to prevent guests from running near the launch track and/or prevent flying objects.

And yet in the game when you take the time to make a rather large maze made of path with a ride on the other end the peeps navigate the maze flawlessly.
