^Skyhawk & maXair were pretty "major" when they were announced.
^^When you operate in a resort atmosphere, that'll probably never happen.
I guess. But when you are referring to a park that has the reputation of Cedar Point, I still wouldn't refer to those rides as "major". I put those in the same category as Pipe Scream, Lake Erie Eagles, etc.
Again... all will be revealed in just a few hours, so I suppose it doesn't really matter. Major to me means something a long the lines of a Soak City makeover, refurb of ride/theme/experience, again something over $10 million.
I am not saying that I will be disappointed, or that I want a 500 ft coaster, I am simply stating that I don't consider a flat ride a "major" addition.
I think it would be hilarious if they just said something like our announcement is nothing and a picture of a troll face appears.

"Major" is so subjective that it's meaningless, especially in this context, where the park isn't going to say "join us Tuesday for completely unexciting news about next season."

Well it looks like the live webcams are facing the Gemini parking lot and Pirate Ride Building today. Hmmm.
In regards to rumored GL closure:http://www.ohio.com/blogs/airtime/airtime-1.489637/wildwater-kingdo...n-1.514167

I'm kinda in the same boat. I never expected a coaster or anything big coming into the start of the 2015 talk, but Tony and Co. sending tweets about how amazing the 2015 project is and how much we're gonna love it just makes me think "bigger" than just a flat ride. They just seem to be talking it up SO much.

The rumor of WWK closing is older than dirt. It's been going around for years.

Well this could be our exact locations for CP2015 or just another curveball...
It would be awesome if they found some random dude and have him announce the new things standing next to the Lemon Chill stand. Haha!

Is it possible to actually bring BACK the Pirate Ride? Are the props and vehicles still in storage and can the building be converted back? That would be a surprise of a lifetime!
"Hello, I am the Lemon Chill Guy and I am announcing CP's 500' Roller Coaster that will take the world by storm! Just Kidding it is actually a Fire Ball :)" LOL

What about something like the biggest Soak City expansion in it's history kinda thing? Some others have alluded to this but a ride geared toward thrill-seekers could be destined for the water park. Also water park rides don't take nearly as long to construct really as a roller coaster which is why we may not have any real sign of construction yet.
I would think of something like this as a ride geared towards thrill-seekers in regards to Soak City
2015 - Ride Host: Shoot the Rapids 2016 - Team Leader: Ripcord/Challenge Golf 2017 - Supervisor: Thunder Canyon 2018 - Supervisor: Camp Snoopy 2019 - Supervisor: Power Tower
The rumor I heard was the closure of challenge park and the expansion of Soak City... Wonder how accurate that may be.

If it is a huge Soak City expansion that would for sure classify has "major" but it wouldn't do much for me at all. I don't go to Soak City ever. I know if it ain't this year, that it's coming in the next few years and that's fine. Maybe some additions of looping water slides or other awesome slides would change my mind and I would go more. About an hr and 18 mins now from knowing.

I'm just sayin. You haven't seen any real signs that major construction is set to take place in the park and they make the announcement for the day after Soak City closes...
Supposedly from who I heard from, the "source" saw the plans for the Soak City expansion. Could likely just be all lies, as most rumors are... But we will find out in just an hour or so!
As far as timing goes, it is perfect as mentioned above... Plus, with a few of those "extreme" trap-door slides, would cater perfectly as a teen type thrill ride as mentioned.
I am excited regardless to see what it is! Always fun to speculate though and see which rumors were closer than others. :)
