New for 2014

Shawn, footers can be linked to bedrock and prohibit any sinking. Its the same above ground or below water. There's countless piers holding up the bridges of the world, that are submerged in sand under water, and they don't sink.

I'm expecting a nice atmospheric overhaul to one of the park's areas.

Happy.

I've said it before but I wouldn't mind if this is all we got. Many areas in the park lack cohesion and atmosphere. Actually, I'd prefer this to something off the tired old Kinzel menu of yet another coaster, thrill ride or kiddie land upgrade. I'd be disappointed in Ouimet if he stuck with that limited menu.

That said, I've got my war paint on and am all set to complain tomorrow. Nobody start without me!

I think Shawn was referring to how people say the magnum is sinking into Lake Erie. He's just messing

Saw that too, I'm Thinking Beach Area Reduced.

even though I think he did that to make fun of us!

You could be right, the joke's on us!

Speaking of which, though, does anybody know Wicked Twister couldn't be moved and fit somewhere else? I don't think it's a coaster where you get much views of the lake when riding. I think the Giant Ferris Wheel and Windseeker fit with the lakeside/boardwalk theme with obviously great lake views on ride and isn't as obstructive as Wicked Twister's platform on the beach.

^ I agree about the family announcing. I keep thinking that it will probably be a relatively small upgrade until I remember that a family is doing the announcement. That makes me think that it has to be somewhat significant.

Anyone remember when PARC management did a huge buildup for a multi-park announcement a few years back, which turned out to be nothing more than an iPad giveaway?

The point is, CP's marketing department, like those at other companies, is charged with marketing the park to the best of their abilities. I doubt the marketing people, much less their bosses, would be OK with producing a crummy campaign with the justification of, "Well, since the park isn't building a new coaster, I think we can sit this one out."

While the family announcers may shed light on the target demographic of #CP2014, I doubt they speak to the size and / or scope of the addition(s). It merely seems evidence of a marketer's energized attempt to give the park a good buildup.

Thrills Around the Corner!

Will the video hit at midnight or tomorrow afternoon.

Aka Dollywood. Everyone thought they were going to build a huge launch coaster or some big thrill ride and it ends up being a little kiddie coaster with an 18 mph launch.

Also, I hope with this new hotel expansion that Sandcastle Suites gets a major expansion done to it. They could obviously fill in all the space with rooms and they could also make some sort of nightlife space as it it's pretty far out from the majority of the other stuff.

From that picture, it looks like nobody stays there too often.

I wanna point out that other amusement parks will be making announcements too. Dorney Park's is Wednesday, and a couple of Six Flags parks will announce theirs soon too. It must be that time of the year. Looks like we're gonna hang in there with what Cedar Point does; I hope they don't do something stupid rather what will make the park look better or fit in

I think they'd best leave that tree buffer between Sandcastle and Magnum, there is still a little feeling of remoteness on the pretzel.

I am beginning to believe what others have stated - it will be an expansion on the Gemini Midway. It will be a Camp Snoopy expansion. Removal of the Junior Gemini kids area including Junior Gemini and the games area. Now, what could go there - anyones guess. My guess - a wild mouse coaster like the one added at Knotts, a couple of those "new" kiddie rides that people envy at other Planet Snoopy expansions - maybe even a Peanuts themed dark ride (improbable unless they shift the Gemini Midway over toward the coaster and remove/relocate Monster). You may also see, in addition to this, something over on the Blue Streak Midway(?).

They are expanding the Camp Snoopy area I don't remember him saying they are removing the jr. gemini tho. They are expanding camp snoopy and more renovations on the hotels again. Nothing to big happening :(
