New for 2006 - Skyhawk

I forgot about that. Of course, none of us know the workers who were getting it running so that PR could get a photo op.

Jason makes it sound like he knows the ride isn't going to be testing anytime soon.

All i said was that before the ride can run, there is a lot of testing to be done. That testing could have started a month ago, or maybe not yet at all.

All we know for sure is that T&T said if all goes well, that they would be testing by march sometime, and I'm fairly certain, they meant the ride itself, not the electronics and such.

Again, this is all speculation. It will be done when it's done. They have well over a month before opening day to wrap up any loose ends.

The blog has posted some new photos of SkyHawk.

Okay, there putting up fences now... but that machine is still in the middle...

Are they going to drive that machine out and risk crushing the fences or is it skyhawks new CentrePiece?

I had issues with that when the website updated. The picture on the desktop would never updated. I ended up using the entire CP webcam pop-up as two active desktop windows on my PC. They run just like the website, updating every 60 seconds.

Wow! CP certainly didn't let us down by skimping on the concrete, did they?

That area was fairly open anyway, with lockers and a couple trees in place. The actual ride location probably removed more trees than anything else. I have a feeling once the garden boxes are finished the area will look just fine, and in 10-15 years it'll look even better.

Actualy where the ride is, was all concrete and grass, and i think the queue is mostly located where grass used to be. I don't think many if any trees had to be removed.

Anyone else have more solid info on this?

I couldn't remember how much of it was grass and if there were any trees. I knew it wasn't much though. The area is pretty much a dead-zone between CCMR and SRF.

CP can't build a single ride without getting crap about pouring cement to allow you to get to the ride. Would you rather it be all dirt and having to walk through trees to get to the ride. If a few missing trees wreaks your day at CP, then you should go to a National Park or something.

Wasn't giving CP crap. I'm very impressed with this new addition. I think you misunderstood what I was implying. Was making a simple comment about how it would be nice to see some type of vegetation amongst all that concrete. A simple hole in that big area with a tree or some flowers planted in it would be nice. Simply my own opinion. And yeah, I would like to walk through some trees to get to the ride. Again, MY opinion. Sorry it isn't the same as yours.

^You're not the only one.

I just think that the "so called" CP ethusiast are more like CP critics at times. I'm a fan I and I'll always be a fan. I notice bad things, but I don't stress them. CP is a great place even if there is a ride down or the rides don't run the best. I'm like a Red Socks fan. They stayed with their team for all those years and they finally won the World Series once again. *** Edited 3/23/2006 12:06:05 AM UTC by Gomez***

I was happy when the Red Sox did win the World Series because no offense to the Yankees but I was tired of seeing them make it. But I like what Zcorpius said. I really like What Cedar Point did with MaXair last season, there was still trees in the area, and they still had grass underneath the ride. I think since this is Frontiertown we are talking about, there will be more trees then you guys think. The Fence will make it look like nothing was done in the off-season. Well not really but you know what I mean. I could live with losing trees where Skyhawk is, but I think we should've saved more trees where White Water Landing once stood.
