They're testing it right now. That is why their webcam has been frozen since Saturday. Their goal is to not show us what else is going on there until Media Day.

So which side do you all think will give the best view?

I think the side pointing towards the trees which aims towards Millennium Force Air Hills.

Hey, how do people get in on media day? Is there any way a normal person can get in say like me?

Simply said, no. You have to be invited.

Do you have to be in like a newspaper or on the news to be invited?

Invitations typically go to newspapers and news stations, although they are by no means limited to them. The bigger the ride, the further they will send out invites, and the more they will send. Well-known enthusiasts as well as the webmasters of un-official sites are often invited as well.

They're, there, their......gotta love em.;)

Anyway, I think T&T said that it was going to be moved before testing to get a better view of the ride in motion and not to worry if it goes down.

I'm not trying to give play-by-play here, but most of the concrete around the ride has been poured. This is a big sign of the offseason ending very soon. *** Edited 3/16/2006 1:53:57 AM UTC by Gomez***

Well if you listen really closely, you might hear something going on. :)

Anyway, thanks for pointing out my typo, I fixed it.

Wow This is the first I've seen of Cedar Points New Website. It looks really Awesome. I just wish I could be on more often then like 2 days a week because this topic keeps going to page 2. Anyway on to Skyhawk, isn't this awesome we are now on the first day of Spring and pretty soon we'll be celebrating Opening Day. All the Concrete looks like it has been poured and Skyhawk I'm sure has been testing everyday.

SkyHawk has received Queue tents.

Well, there is a lot of testing that has to go on before the arms will ever start swinging.

Testing all the electrical systems, the compression system, emergency releases, the restraints. I'm sure there is some that I'm leaving out. They'll test all this stuff and make sure it is functioning properly before they start swinging anything.

The site has seen very little physical work in the past month, but I checked the webcam I see people or trucks parked near the ride. I'm guessing the doing the testing you're talking of is just about done. MaXair was first seen testing on April 10, 2005 and that ride was put up in mid-February. Skyhawk was completed during the first two weeks of January.

I know (or should I say familiar with) the different test the ride has to go through before the first rider or even the first test run, but Jason makes it sound like he knows the ride isn't going to be testing anytime soon. I don't know either, but judging by the time maXair started testing and how far ahead of schedule Skyhawk is, it just seems like it could be doing test runs any time now. Watch for those tarps being removed sometime soon.

They may also be waiting for the weather to turn as well (not that its been bad). Just because primary construction was done earlier than maXair doesn't mean they will start testing earlier. I would imagine with all the air compressors that this ride will require slightly more testing than maXair.

Another thing to look at is how soon they got Xtreme Swing at Valleyfair running even during the coldest part of the winter.
