New for 2006 - Skyhawk

I honestly can not wait to ride Skyhawk!

I had a lot of fun on maXair, and I can just imagine what Skyhawk will bring to me.

Nothing but smiles for this guy!

Just in case nobody's noticed yet, it appears that concrete is finally being poured.

But if you notice, the arms have been moved forward slightly. Does that mean that it's operational?;)

It looks as though they are just using the Boom Lift to hold the arms out of the way so that they can do the pour.

Have you guys ever noticed that at night the webcam shows the same picture from like 7:30pm.Mabey they test it when the webcam is off so we cant see it just to make us mad! Yes I remember them testing MaxAir on the webcam. Remember wishing it was streaming video instead of still shots.

Nope, their looking for some test riders on Opening Day and crossing their fingers for nothing to go wrong. :)

Next to the actual construction of the ride, Skyhawk is currently going through the most drastic change right now. The midway surounding the ride is going to be pour most likely Monday, since they have the area leveled off already. This is my favorite part to watch, every day you see something new. First it's the concrete being poured, the the fences and such go up, things get painted and spruced up, ride starts testing, landscaping gets done, ride test some more, more people are being seen on the webcam (ride op training), Media Day finally comes, Opening Day follows, and then a few days after, you might be able to catch me on there. The best time of the year is right around the corner. 55 days and counting.

Hey, how do people get in on media day? Is there any way a normal person can get in say like me?

Simply said, no. You have to be invited.

Or you could create your own newspaper and tell CP your the media...

Hmmm, I am one of the editors for my school newspaper.

And I've been in our (Lincoln Park's) news herald a couple of times.....maybe I can go!:)

I don't think it'll work. I've heard of others that have tried under similar circumstances, both school TV and newspaper, and they've all been turned down.

Maybe you can just keep posting on Pointbuzz and maybe Walt or Jeff will select 10 lucky winners for being part of Media Day...lol.

Well, Tony and Tyler did say that for one of the online contests they'd be giving away some invitations to media day. You can always try to win that.

Yeah, they have to actually hold the contest first. That's been a pretty disappointing feature of the site.

The last few times I checked the cam, it has been "stuck" on Sat Mar 11 17:59:08 2006. I copied and brightened the pic and it appears that concrete forms were in place in the midway area. Probably poured yesterday when it was pretty warm out. Wonder what's up next? Hmmm...
