I think they will wait until the end of the season, because like someone said earlier, a family that was going to go this year, and hears about a new ridein the middle of the season would wait til the following year.

Well I think they could still start in the middle of the season just by pouring footers early and then when the season ends they can get vertical with whatever the next thing may be.
What if the building that the revolving station for White Water Landing is a cool walking area for Maverick. Maybe they'll set up the queue like how Flight of Fear is set up when you walk in the entrance. It would be cool if this thing is a water coaster and you walk in and there is a bunch of theming in this.
Holiday World announced "Voyage" in the summer of 2005, and Millennium Force was announced in July of 1999.
An announcement will not detour people from coming to the park.
Although in the last five years Cedar Point has announced in the off season- with all the buzz that has been created, I don't think they can hold off an announcement for too long, all it does is annoy the enthusiasts. The general public could care less when the thing is announced. Dragster was to be announced in August but it was post-poned because of all the buzz- and the only thing delaying the announcemnet did was disappoint the coaster nuts who were "fantasizing" (remember the L-TH-TW-B debate?) we've been there done that- just announce the thing and be done with it before people think we're getting an indoor/outdoor/looping/4d/flyer/floorless/890ft/dueling all in one monster coaster with a statue of Kinzel on top.

Nope, only ODOT can do that.

Has anyone looked at the webcam today? Not only is it a beautiful February day at Cedar Point, but I also have noticed something. Anyone notice that the pavement is all smoothed out and ready to be paved. Also it looks like they put up a fence behind the queue? http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/webcam/camera3.cfm
I wonder if they want to get the pavement on before they start testing. Well, that is if all the hookups are completed....which I think are.

Looking at the web cam I think I can see a tree or two in front of the compressor room. This would help blend it in to the surroundings a lot better.
RIDE ON, and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON...
Hey I'm back again. To answer your question Adam, I don't think they'll pave until the testing is complete. If I remember right, they did the same thing when MaXair was being built.
Is there anything new going on with Skyhawk yet? Another question is should we expect testing to start anytime soon? It just seems like nothing is really happening at Skyhawk right now.
I'm sure testing will begin sometime later this month.

For quite a while they were waiting on a specific part from toledo edison, and it wasn't available at the time because toledo edison was sending a bunch of stuff down to help out with the hurricane relief effort. Did we ever find out if they got that part they were waiting on?
