New for '05--maXair

Sweet!!

PKI isn't the only park with a have a Huss Giant Frisbee with that paint scheme. Nagashima Spaland in Japan has one.

What i dont understand is both PKI's Delirium and CP's maXair have 50 seats and run for 2 minutes 30 seconds each time but PKI's gets 600 riders per hour and CP's gets 1000???

It's just a number that they expect you to put on the ride in an hour. Maybe in a year or two that 1000 will go down to like 800 or something. The company expects that 1000. But there's also guest that bitch for no reason and hieght checks too. We got to check for people under 54 inches and people who are not taller than 6 foot 4. So for us thats a capacity killer. Plus on the control panel it indicates weather a restraint is down enough for the ride to even start. If someone wants off you have to unlock the whole thing and recheck all over again. So those are some things that might kill capacity... At least it does for us.

This is a great Christmas present for Cedar Point. awesome!!.

You mean Xmas

maXair, dosnt look like it has the red and white checkered top half of the arm like PKI's and Nagashima's. Im not sure but looking at the artwork it dosnt. So it wont be the SAME as Delerium, similar but not the same. Im sure once its up it will have its own distinguished look. Its hard to tell with the artwork, CP normally puts more detail into there renderings.

so when do you guys think this ride will be completed?

Yay! I can't wait until 2005! My friends and I are taking a road trip! Nice going CP!

Just a note for everyone: the cleveland news channel (channel 3?) is going to have a "sneak peak" of maXair on the 11 o' clock news in case anyone is interested in watching....

I would really really like to be excited about this ride, but due to height restrictions, I'll never be able to ride it, I'm sure.

For some reason, Doug, I pictured you about 4' 2" with a shaved head when you said height restrictions.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

GERG THANKS ALOT I am gonna be sure to watch that i am really a Fox 8 type of guy so i would of missed it

There are a few things Cedar Point can do to increase the capacity. Some of them are kind of surprising, and some of them are normal for Cedar Point on major rides and almost unheard of at PKI. For instance...

a) A second exit gate. Ever notice the traffic jam on Delerium when everyone tries to exit at once?

b) Height checks at the queue entrance, or at the queue staging point

c) A more efficient ride program (floor up and down faster, TDC detection less finnicky)

Those are just examples. Will we see all those things? That remains to be seen. Can Cedar Point unload and reload 50 riders in 30 seconds? I kind of doubt it; I'll believe it when I see it. Can they unload and reload faster than PKI? Almost certainly.

No one has said anything about a height restriction yet, so let's not start getting on the park's case until they do.

Like I said, I think if they can park it faster and get the floor up and down faster, they could hit that capacity. I'm sure Huss has learned a lot about the ride since they built the first one.

On that page the height requirement is listed as 52". Or is that a mistake?

Edit: I think I may have read that wrong. It's late. Forgive me if I look like a fool :)

I think Jeff was referring to a maXimum height restriction. Since your legs hang free there is that problem with your feet maybe clipping the ground as you swing through the bottom of the arc.

Goodbye MrScott

John

The hieght requirement on ours is 54" and no taller than 6'4".

I hope there is no maXimum height requirement, cause I want to ride really badly, and im pushing 6'5...that would suck :( although i did ride Delirium a few times and they seemed to have no problem with my overtly gangly features!

Alright, I knew I was reading something wrong. It was a long night.. hehe

If you're tall, slouch.

Ahhhhh C.P. My Happy Place!

Troika is a little further over to the left, and presumably is at the load portion of the cycle so you can't see it over the maXair sign. :)
