New for '05--maXair

Does anyone know the size of the disc? I noticed Rihard mentioned 8RPM I was just curious as to how fast you would actually be spinning.

as always, cedar point is so creative with the use of the land. what a nice spot to wedge in a ride. i only got to ride delerium once this year so now i can overdose on this frisbee next year. not only fun to ride but fun to watch.

It seems like a curious location, right next to Kiddy Kingdom.

You don't really feel the "spin" of the disk as much as you might think. Even after three rides in a row (without having to exit the ride) on Delirium at Beastbuzz 2003, I still had no ill effects (dizziness, disorientation, etc).

Ride looks awesome. Very glad they're looking to improve this area, cool name too.

Note: Did anybody realize that maXair didn't break any record.

At least they didn't take out a coaster to put the ride in, as at PKI. A friend of mine loved King Cobra, though Delirium was one of the best flats I have ever been on.

I remember suggesting this type of ride to Rob Decker back in 2003, and it is nice to see he listens to suggestions from his guests. I am not saying that I convinced CP to go with this ride, but I bet enough people suggested it that he seriously looked into it.

Oh, and I am posting this in Public Finance class. Maybe I should listen to the lecture.

I wonder if the ERT for Coastermania '05 will be modified to include maXair. Can't wait to experience it!

The picture looks wrong. Is Wicked Twister really that far over? I always thought it was to the left of Giant Wheel. I am so excited to go back- 5 months, 2 weeks, and a day- yay!

Um, I believe what you mean is "neXt year."

Sweet! Delirium is one of my favorite rides at PKI. Delirium has a Height Requirment of 54 inches, looks like my brother and sister can ride a Huss Giant Frisbee when we visit CP on opening day!

This will be an awesome addition to CP. I love Delirium and can't wait to try out maXair.

The coaster wasn't removed for Delirium, per se, as much as it was a nightmare to maintain for relatively poor ridership. That's why they haven't been able to sell it.

King Cobra IMO was very rough

Also, to answer someones question on Deliriums line length. The only time I really saw Delirium with a long line, was the first couple months of its operation.

Will maXair have the same stats as Delirium, or will it break any records? Does delirium really reach 140ft and 70mph?

Delirium reaches 76mph and 137ft.

I had a chance to get a ride on Delirium on my trip to PKI this past summer. I only had one complaint about it, the ride cycle just seemed way too short. By the time I was really starting to enjoy the ride, we were slowing down. I know that a longer cycle would cause longer lines, but even one or two more full swings over what the PKI version delivers would really make me happy.

Other than that, I loved the ride. The spinning everyone seems so concerned about isn't really anything to be concerned about. The disc spins rather slowly, just enough that you experience swings facing both skyward, and face-first plunges back down.

I'm really impressed over the amount of attention they are delivering to that corner of the park. The games area, IMO, has needed a major face-lift for years. Kudos to CP on 2005!

I am so happy today. Great move CP...I didn't want to hear anything else but this.

It doesn't break any records because Huss builds all Giant Frisbees mechanically identical. The only differences between models are the themeing, and it would seem that CP is going for a retro theme which would fit in pretty well in that part of the park, except for the over exaggerated X.

I dont mind the idea of what they are putting up, or the location. Although it will be more of a pain in the ass for us employees walkin from cash control every day.

Has anyone thought of the idea that maybe this is yet another distracition for a building of a new rollar coaster? Anyone remember Wicked twister, then Top Thrill? Usually it's every 2 years they build a new ride... why not build this, to cover up plans for a huge ride next year?
