Mystery Construction

I understand what coolkid2345 is trying to say. It sucks because of one reason. Cedar Fair is in debt and therefore they only can spend so much without making their debt amount higher. So that means Cedar Point won't get something too expensive like they have in the past. We should be happy though, Cedar Point has 3 coasters though that have cost them 20+Million Dollars. Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick.

Raptor cost 11.5 million to build and thats a great ride. Why cant they build two rides that cost that much???? still wouldn't cost as much as millennium.

Voyage was around 9 million, wasnt it?. Home Run.

Well i believe last, maybe the year before that Cedar Fair built 4 coasters in a year? They normally do 3 to 4 major rides between all the parks. Also last year they spent about 90-100 mill total so theres hope. CP is do for something halfway big right? Like Mantis,Raptor,Wicked Twister, and even Magnum cost 8-15 mill,Maggie being the cheapest. But that was also 1989 but still. They can build something quite nice. Lets hope! But im happy with what we got too!

CP can build a quality woodie for $6-10 million (what I'm hoping for). They don't have to spend $20+ million on another steel coaster.

^ I would say a little higher maybee 8-14 million. Prowler is 3'100 feet of track with 2 Millienium Flyer trains for 8 million. I could see them getting a GCI or a Gravity Group woodie. 3800 feet of track and maybee 3 trains. Does GCI do 3 trains?

^^B&M's now cost at least 15 million. Hydra: The Revenge at Dorney Park cost 13 million in 2005. Arrow was very inexpensive and got alot of bang for your buck. Intimans ar very overpriced. Alot of times they have problems. Farenheight, Stormrunner, Kingdaka, Top thrill Dragster,& Millenium have all had problems this year. I could see them maybee putting in a woodie.

^As far as I know, GCI doesn't do 3 trains basically because they don't have any coasters with MCBR's (unless I'm mistaken and there's one somewhere out there). Three trains wouldn't work with their typically short ride length and no mid-course brakes.

Or they could just NOT build a coaster next year and build another type of ride. Imagine that, crazy idea huh?

^^ That sorta stinnks because the capacity wouldn't be that good. Thanks for telling me!

You know Hershey has a GCI out there thats a capacity machine, called Lightning Racer. There are other ways to put more then 2 trains on a ride beside a MCBR (not that I think CP is about to add another racer but just throwing it out there.)

^ Hey lets say the green side is broken down, not a big capacity machine now. It isn't even close to gemini's capacity. Lightning Racer is a really good ride though! The only way to have more than two trains are having MCBR's or having a long brake run/and or seperate entrance and exit.

^Except GCIs (especially those with MFlyers) rarely break down. In fact, I cant think of a time Ive been at a park and seen a GCI break down. Of course excepting the 200ft tall Murphy's Law ride in Cincinatti I really cant think of a day Ive seen a wood coaster go down for anything other then a minor loose bolt issue (on the train) or weather but there you are.

Well 99er you are rite they may do something else.....say a dark ride perhaps. I alone with many others hope its a nice coaster...lol.

I believe MrScott will be right once again, and it will involve water, and plenty of it at that. Who knows, it could be a decent substitute for a former water ride.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Woodies can go down for computer issues (brake faults, proxy censors being out of whack, etc.) but for the most part, it's like you said and usually structural or weather reasons they go down.

Lightning Racer (red side)was down when I went last year.It was having a computer issue with the restraints. I would say they are pretty good about not having down time compared to Intamin A.G. But anything is better than Intamin.

I wonder if they are putting something in for next year if they will announce it soon, or just start working on it and keep people guessing?

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

Actually I think they only spent 60 million last year between all the parks. The giga at KD will cost at least 30 million, plus Carowinds is rumored to be getting a Hypercoaster that will probly be close to 20 mil. The only hope is Kenzel said next year should be close to the 90-100 they were spending, so there is a chance they can get a coaster or a major attracion in if they up the spending. If not that only leaves 10-20 mil for the rest of the chain.

^ Are you sure its a hyper? You might be right but look at this video on http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/ . It said it was going to be "record beaking" and "history making" It might be a hyper though. :)
