Hmm I wonder what the thunder and lighting comment means on the blog?
I'm guessing that person was in the area of the new attraction for Halloweekends and heard thunder and saw lightning from the new attraction scene since thats what the blog was about!

Where about is those concrete pads located, between the frontier RR station and CCMR or passed CCMR? And using the old sky lift station would be very cool but not sure how they could have a coaster/flume there without taking CCMR out? I dont really see it leaving since its a pretty good family coaster. But thats just me. Whatever they do it should be kick ass!!!
Sit on the left side next time you go through Boneville, and then look on the ground just beyond the track right by the Granny skeleton drinking her moonshine and you'll see it.
I think you are taking about the old footer for a tower on the Frontier Lift. The lift went right over the CCMR and the first tower was just beyond the bottom of the lift hill across the railroad tracks.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
No its brand spanking new concrete and is clearly marked with an electrical company logo (I believe First Energy.)
Knowing Cedar Point, they'll try to squeeze this water coaster or water ride in without taking out a coaster. Cedar Point is proud of the coaster collection they have. Plus Cedar Creek has been around since early 60s I think? It's the second oldest in the park.
^ Late 60's. This is CCMR's 40th year of operation.

Hoping to one day build these great machines that we affectionatly call "Coasters"
^^ Pete, if you want some pics of the old Frontier Lift try these .
I don't know if the pics are too old but a few look like the old Frontier town station, but I don't see CCMR -- not sure if it was out of frame or just did not exist yet.
I have seen spots around the CCMR area when riding it before that looked like a spot where an old footer was though.
Oh ok thanks! I'll keep a good eye out next time I go,should see alot more by then bc it will be in Sept. sometime. I been researching some coaster concepts and a Flyer or Diving coaster would be very cool to see. Also a nice AquaTraX might be cool too. But i think CP needs to break a record for biggest loop...only 3 coasters have a loop. Corkscrew,Raptor, and Mantis.Im not sure what the biggest loop is but it would be cool to break it.And have more than one loop too! Just throwing some ideas out there.
Did anyone Notice Tony's Twitter about a press piece he was doing for the 2010 season on thurday?
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
You not supposed to be looking at that. That's rude and perverted. ;)
Anyway, you mean Tweet. And no.

I would like to see another massive loop at CP as well. MANTIS' loop is 119 ft, RAPTOR's is 100 ft. The tallest vertical loop I know of is Dominator's first loop it's 135 ft. It's epic. Storm Runner at Hershey Park has a 135 ft Immelman.
Even a 160 ft, or 180 ft loop is possible I think. The KD Giga coaster looks as if it might go upside down because of that double spined looper track it has. If it does have a loop, I'd guess it would be bigger than the current record.

Thanks for the link, those are some nice pictures of the Frontier Lift and some other Von Roll 101s.
Picture 1 shows the Frontier Town station in the distance. The CCMR is there, I think I can spot the brown of the bottom of the lift hill close to the base of the terminal building.
I think Picture 11 is the inside of the Frontier Town terminal because, if I remember correctly, the drive terminal was on the Main Midway side.
Very nostalgic pictures, I was on the Frontier Lift with my mom and dad on the very first day of operation to park guests.

I was there on Tuesday evening and a crew was on the island and also on the tracks behind SRF and it looked as though they were shooting elevations. The transit was set-up by the tracks and 2 guys on the island had the sticks to shoot the elevations.

Great info! I cant wait to go back in Sept. and see whats going on by then!
I am glad they haven't announced anything yet. I will say reading all the posts that people put up about what its going to be is just as fun. I love to hear some of the imaginations that people come up with. I will say that I love the tallest loop idea. Its fun getting all the little up dates from people who are fans of the point and bring us back here the little tidbits of what they saw and yes of what the Lemon Chill guy told them.(LOL)
I went there on tuesday and i looked for stuff i saw spray paint by the path by SRF but i forgot my camera in the car when i went. Hopefully in mid august when i go there again stuff will be accually happening like T said he seen the track and such.
Bring back Boblo!
It's just kinda sucks that Cedar Fair is putting a giga at KD it almost rules out a coaster or major thrill ride given how much they are spending on that.
