This is also what happens when I get bored...

You know, having a giga dive machine with like a 200 foot immelman, and a 180+ foot vertical loop, with some big helix turns at the end would be sweet...A 97 or 99 degree brake-stopped drop would be sick as well.

Oh pretty please let it be a pony express clone from Knott's. Wait Did I just say that? Cedar Creek Mine Ride is also already taken darn it all. My #1 name choice in the tradition of Banshee would be The Wendigo.
Google it and have fun with it.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
So if it's called "Floodgate" it must be a water ride, right? (sighs, rolls eyes, dreams of ridiculous wooden coaster shatters)

Ok, we know Tony is smarter than that to just spill the new rides name in public. I do like the idea of the station being in the old Frontier Lift station. Sounds like a neat idea.

Demon Drop, Banshee...Come on. They couldnt have kept Banshee. I've got my shirt. I guess that's all that matters:)
Okay, okay. All black coaster, purple trains, neon yellow restraints. 500 foot 60 degree slowly launched lift 98 degree drop.....WRATH. Okay, I'm drianed....Cedar Fair will give in..right? ;)

Maybe if this coaster is a Diving Machine or B&M Hyper and they were to use the station; CP could still use the water from Snake River Falls for a coaster train splash similar to Diamondback and Griffon. Just a thought;)
How about the name ROGUE? Have a shadowy figure with a cowboy hat..

Floodgate!? Bwahahaha! Like he'd spill the beans anyway. He's the master at making us fans giggle at the slight mention of something that could be a new ride.:)
I've heard my fair share of rumors from the inside and none of them I take seriously. Not at least until I see some more groundwork.
So far all we really know is there will be an improvement in the electrical system in that area with a probable shift of the train tracks.

Knowing Tony he probably said "FloodGate" with a stone poker face. I remember him being a pretty funny guy when I worked at CP. He seems to have a pretty good sense of humor. The fact that the person he told believed him makes it three times as funny:)

Matt pretty much has it. There's that BIG footer marked "new coaster" laying right in the middle of the main midway along with the 20 pieces of track and supports that no body has commented on. I guess that land clearing turned out to be a VERY good decoy.;)Oh and little birdie told me when the "announcement" should be. And it's sooner than you might think.;)
That is a great picture of the footer ;)
That footer is amazing it completely crushed Raptor, and blue streak with its size, and we didn't notice. Curse you MF island!
They actually GIVE announcements out daily about it....but no body cares. All that matters is what's happening on the island.

You guys are complete idiots. They have almost completed the construction of the 2010 ride... The whole ride is submerged underwater in Lake Erie!!! Duh... The island construction was just a decoy and they needed dirt from the island to make the footers more stable!!!
When footers start showing up on the causeway and Battery Park we'll know we're in for a treat;)

Now that was a good one Final Coaster!. Maybe they would make it with 5 lift hills or something like that.
When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835
Why would CP get a B&M hyper coaster when we already have the best hyper coaster out there???
Let's Get Weird.
I think that this tread has turned into "Open Mic Night at the Improv"....at least until there is any "real" news to report on.
Enjoy the show, remember to tip your waitress and we'll be here all week!
^^ I agree. I would much rather ride magnum over DimondBack. Ever since Amuesment Today came out it has always been in the top 10. Can't say that about a B&M hyper or any of thier coasters.
Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc
I think Raptor is a good B&M. Dominator is my third favorite coaster. I understand what you're saying about Magnum. I think the CP Design team along with various members of the board would like to spring off of what CP did with Magnum.
VP of Development Rob Decker mentioned the coaster ideas for 2007 as "One was kind of like Magnum. The next had a little bit of Millenium to it. One was a completely different concept for the park." He continued to say, "Why are we chasing all of these records?"
Here's the video. http://www.funcoast.com/stories/attractions/cedar-point/coastermania-revisits-cedar-point
I'm trying to think what kind of records these other possible rides could have broken. Maybe that's what CF decided to use for KD's new giga.

Hmm I wonder what the thunder and lighting comment means on the blog? Anyways, what people don't know is that they are moving Magnum to the island to fix the sinking problem.
