Mystery Construction

please, you telling me starlight experience will last a long time??? It was a terrible investment. Those lights will be out before you know it and they wont maintain it.. Think about all the labor put into it and what they get back from it...I guarantee you people dont go into the park between 9-11 at night to see that.

I havent posted here in a long time. But I'm back now and I disagree with you. I fail to see how Starlight Experience will not last a long time. I got to walk the trail last night and it was great. It's not a big or flashy addition like a coaster. But it's still a great addition for a family at CP. CP has lots for the thrill seekers and I have no doubt they will continue to put in big roller coasters. But its also good to know that CP is also thinking about putting in attractions that are more family oriented.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker

You're getting WAY to ahead of yourself cpfanatic....calm down a bit. I'll throw in that you obviously missed the discussion earlier this year about how the LED's are a much lower maintenance form of lighting and how WELL the experience is going in terms of responses from it.

The LED's themselves wont be the issue. Birds, PEOPLE trees growing bushes growing, plugs blowing wires shorting out, rough winters. also, jeff, your saying people have come to the park and bought there 25 dollar starlight ticket to go see the 2 minute walk through the starlight experience??? Please, your being very naive.

You can spell "naive", but not "you're", "their" and basic punctuation escapes you? I suppose that's where spell check can only do so much to make people sound reasonably intelligent. :)

No, people don't likely buy $25 tickets just to see SE. But, if seeing SE at the park improves their overall experience in the park, they're that much more likely to return, and drop $45 later on. And, as Jeff pointed out (and you conveniently ignored), people staying later at the park makes them more likely to purchase overpriced, crappy food and souvenirs.

And if you're correct (yore knot) - that CP cannot possibly keep this thing going year-after-year - then why hasn't Halloweekends fallen completely apart? I mean, CP obviously is totally inept when it comes to this sort of thing, right?

If you want me to be completely honest with you, I don't care about punctuation when it comes to a forum. You know what i meant and that's all there is to it. You think because you take the time out of your work time (and companies time) to make a "your" a "you're" makes you better and smarter than me??

Halloweekends is not a year long event, it runs on weekends for two months. The abuse taken by it isn't anywhere close to that of what SE will experience. I dont believe they will take everything down for SE in the winter time. do you???

I only work for one company, and my ability to spell isn't what makes me smarter than you.

You're missing the point, and now omitting aspects of your argument that have been dispelled. HW may only run for part of the season, but that short time of year is arguably more brutal than the cumulative remainder of the operating season, in terms of weather (large swings in temperature, sleet, etc.). That CP manages to keep so many relatively fragile props coming back every year speaks toward their dedication to theme where it matters most. Are they going to take them down in the Winter? I don't know, and I don't care. That has nothing to do with anything.

Perhaps the LED lights will see a fair amount of wear-and-tear, but we're talking about LED's here. They're far more durable than their filament-based counterparts, and last much longer.

Really, I'm not sure what your problem is. Are you mad because CP spent money on something other than an X-hundred foot superflyerlooper coaster? If so, you'll figure out one day that it takes more than building the latest, tallest whatever to sustain an entertainment business.

I would like to interrupt here... my friend found some things next to Gemini last night. It is posted here. Could this be the start of a staging area?

Sorry to interrupt your... um, interruption, but that could probably be discussed right here. :)

Oh I know, that's why I brought it up here. :) I just wanted to link to the page so people could see what he had said. (and i didn't really feel like retyping it myself... :) )

Clearly, the name CPfantaic is not right for that person. A CP Fanataic would understand the basic principles of operation. Sure build it and they will come but also appeal to all generations not just the ride warriors. My family and I have gotten season passes every year since 92. SE and all the other shows are what my parents and Grandparents like to go see. Sure I love the coasters and would love another but saying that because you don't like SE means others don't. You are so wrong in so many ways.

It doesn't seem like you have ever been through Starlight Expiernce. It is not a "two min. walk", its about that if you sprint through it.It is a ten minute walk with amazing things such as: with lights, floats, and theming. I think it is an good value from 4 to 10 pm with the purchase of a starlight ticket. Birds won't be an issue. It is a really good attraction that the whole family can go to without waiting. Would you rather see a parade with snoopy and Lynal loosing his blanket? What fun!

I can easily spend twenty minutes or more in there.

I really hate it when people argue on this site and gang up on one person. If you disagree fine, but to beat it into the ground for 2 pages. Come on. So CPfanatic doesnt care for scenery, I disagree end of story.

You've all made your point. Now move on. Leave the knit picking to Jeff. That's what he's here for....(enter Jeff with some great remark)

"Before you know it, that Maverick's got the drop on ya."

Did anyone besides djDaemon notice the post that I made about my friend finding lift hill chains in the parking lot next to Gemini? Because it seems like it could be the start of a staging area...

R.I.P. Mr. Scott

I noticed. Perhaps...

I also saw. I really don't know if I believe it though. DO you have a picture?

I believe this is what I saw when I was there on the 1st of July. I figured it was just an extra chain. It is just sitting there all by it self. If you look back over your left shoulder at the beginning of the lift you can see it. to small of an area for staging of anything major.

I wasn't there, and I don't think Wicked Twister 90 got any pictures of it (no camera). I agree that it could very well be for a chain replacement (first thought that crossed my mind actually).
