Atleast address the other concerns he had in his previous post and not just comment on the first sentence. Since when is being a jerk back to someone who annoyed you ALWAYS the right thing to do?

He shouldn't have made the "remark" comment but at least have some class. Everyone has their right to speak, and you have to right to moderate what they say on your forum. But in no way does the justify your actions or remarks. Honestly.

Would anyone like a glass of water from the flume? ;)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

All of a sudden I have a craving for pancakes....

Pancakes? Nah, I was thinking waffles, and then maybe calling the wahhhmbulance...

But really, would anyone else like some water? I hear the SRF pump water is actually drinkable. Although maybe not out of a new flume.

Well I am glad all you mature individuals who don't like Jeff (but still post here) kept this thread on track.

A few have mentioned that there is not time for anything big because we have not seen any sort of ground work yet. I have to think back to Raptor where ground work did not start until September and vertical construction did not start until November (I think). Raptor is a pretty big ride and at that point was the biggest project Cedar Point had done. I know

We know the island has been cleared of pretty much everything on the northwestern end. Lets pretend this is the land for the new attraction (probably is anyway). How do we know they did not already pour footers back in April and cover them back up like with TTD?

Im in the boat (no pun intended) that thinks we are getting a water/flume attraction next season. But just because we have not seen more activity does not mean it wont be of substance or have a heavy theme.

^ I really appreciate your effort to get this thread back on track, but after 59 pages all threads become an attack on someone.

My effort to stay on track:

My question is, if it is an attraction that goes do the island, where does it start? I can't believe that Mine Ride would go, so where would the entrance be?

Old Frontier Lift station. Atleast thats what Tony responded to. Didn't respond with anything really, but it sounds like a good idea to me. Great spot for a GCI. (PLEASE) :)

If they don't put in a coaster, it would be cool if CP put in a flat ride that took advantage of the water to add some thrill. Perhaps a topple tower? Imagine riding Maxair or Skyhawk and staring straight down at water. I think it would add to the excitement of the ride, especially if there were some fountains that almost hit you.

Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless

Mine Ride wouldn't go anywhere. Why does everyone think the park would rip that out before SRF? Look at the land SRF sits on. Perfect location right against the midway, next to the trail, large footprint, existing station (if needed), access to both sides of the property (from the Sky Hawk side and Maverick pond side). That thing is coming down. Id bet money on it.

If I had money, I'd be betting as well! Let's see...I've got...a buck and change. Want to match me? ;)

With Snake River going (and it will be gone), there's already a station area that could be reused with some modification, as well as a splash pool for an ending, so there's no need to do anything with the old Lift station and make a fuss over what could happen to CCMR. The only lingering question for me is if it will be a pure flume, or (and I'm crossing my fingers) a Mack Super Splash or similar.

I don't buy it - look an the arial image of the park. I think SRF is staying. Why take it out? Does it have high maintainance costs? My guess is up the trail, somewhere up beyond the bathrooms, directly across from Thunder canyons observation deck. Perfect location for a new water ride, keep all the wetness in one locaiton.

Why take it out?...why not? The thing looks like its about to fall over. Take a ride on the CP&LE Railroad and you can see the deteriorating supports and the more then crumbling footers. It takes up a decent sized plot of land that, when used in conjunction with the island, could make for a very nice ride area.

The ride has been and has been becoming ever more a maintenance nightmare from what I understand. I believe Dave (rideman) has touched on the subject before, as have a few others. The structure is a very visible rust bucket that no amount of paint has been able to hide. There is no doubt in my mind that it is coming down.

Although the spot you mentioned (the old boneyard) has enough area for a station, there are a few things I think would keep one from being put there. The main reason being that the train tracks don't run very far from the trail, and we know how well a line going across the tracks worked the last time that was tried...(I still wonder what in the heck they were thinking). Also, the station would be somewhat removed from the sight of the Trail (I'm assuming and hoping they keep as many trees as possible...yeah right), versus the already open and very visible location of Snake River Falls.

For some reason I really noticed all the rust this year. I think people would notice the rust not being there more than they would miss the ride.

I see your point, but there is a huge area with easy access the island, without needing to remove an existing ride. The footprint of SRF is insignificant verses the available space up the trail. It actually takes up very little space at all. There is a ton more area than I realized between Millies cross over the trail and SFRs turn. That is my vote.

I want a good ol fashioned Flume with a modern twist. I really can see snake rivers going bye bye, just becuase other parks and chains are making them disappear. I like them but prefer them when they are in water parks. This might make my a hypocrite on water rides but I love rides like Thunder Canyon because there is a little bit of variety and suspense as to whom and when you are gonna get wet.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Oops, I may have sprinkled a bit.

Anyone see the Cedar Point rollercoaster racing video they show at the Indian's games. I caught it out of the corner of my eye and I thought it was the announcement of a new dual racing coaster...It looked amazing, with 2 tracks twisting in and out of each other. That would be a great addition to the park

A thought came to me that water rides (like SRF) really only make sense obviously during hot days (which haven't been very common this year so far). I won't go too much in detail, as it's been discussed before, but basically with the time period it gets it's majority ridership and the months where the ride hosts just sit there sending empty boats is quite noticeable. Plus with it's ever aging parts and constant maintenance, I think it's time to retire it.

This IMHO, works out more for Soak City which opens closer to the summer season anyway. I'm not a business person but an absence of water rides in the park, I think will drive more people to the water park where they have more options to get wet, relax and have a good time in the summer heat.

Though with rides like WWL, you have a wider range of people that are willing to ride it because it doesn't get you soaking wet. So I am all for that idea as long as it doesn't get you really wet.
