Jeff,

What is the record for posts about nothing? Just curious.

I'm sure that record is held somewhere in 2006, pre-Maverick.

I know everyone wants another roller coaster, but take off your coaster hat for a minute and think carefully about the gap in the attraction lineup. That'll get you to the 2010 ride.

Thank God Mr. Boycott is sticking to his words and went away. For the record, I don't "threaten" anyone for disagreeing, but I get heavily annoyed with people who think it's their duty to steer the direction of conversation or the site. +1 to the community at large for making the correction on its own.

I can think of 2 gaps, but if I got my wish it would combine both: dark ride/family-friendly water ride (that doesn't entirely soak you, like White Water Landing).

The "coaster gap" that needs filled is a great modern woodie, but I would like to see the above gaps filled first.

Promoter of fog.

I think Kevinj has succeeding in narrowing us down to the three possibilities. And since Jeff has instructed us to take off our coaster hats, this (perhaps) narrows it further. So a dark ride or a non-soaking water ride it is.

Either way, I'll be a very happy Ensign.

It's the resurrection of the Pirate Ride. Woohoo! :)

... I wish. I loved that ride.

Hell, why not the best of both worlds (Hybrid flume\dark ride)? A Pirate \ skeleton themed flume ride. Splash Mountain mixed with Pirates of the Carib and Haunted Mansion.

If this was the case, go the first year and early. By year two most affects will not be operational. Year three they may start tearing down themed structures and you will just have a plain log flume.

Sorry for the negativity here.... CP has to keep a theme for once for me to gain any hope. They need to keep it past concept art and maintain it past August of year one.

Ensign, I'll help you narrow it down to one choice.

Consider the clearing of both Millennium Island and the old boneyard. We know that nothing (well, almost, there are some tires back there now because a few people I know didn't know where else to throw them) has really been dumped back in that location, which indicates to me that its going to be used for the 2010 project. Now if we are talking about a dark ride, a building would fit on the area cleared on the Island, but how do you get people over there? Paddlewheel is staying, more than likely, so that means a structure tall enough to provide clearance for the boats to travel underneath. I find a permanent bridge of that type over the lagoon - which is decently wide both at the point of the bone yard and at SRF - extremely unlikely.

Aside from the issue of a structure to allow people to cross the lagoon we have some reasons to believe Snake River is leaving us as soon as the park ceases daily operation. Its a gigantic rust bucket and maintenance nightmare. Its main period of ridership lasts for one, maybe two months plus any extraordinarily warm days in May and June. Also, earlier this season I observed that the vending structure was empty, and looked like there was no intention of filling it (it wasn't very clean, didn't look cared for). Snake sits on a prime piece of real estate for a water ride with a station area and ending splash down already clearly and easily defined and used. The park also lacks a water ride that doesn't leave you ridiculously soaking wet, a gap left by the removal of White Water Landing.

Jeff said to keep the coaster out of mind, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is a new flume or some other type of entirely traditional water ride. In the end though, this is going to be a water ride of some type, though exactly what it entails, I do not know. I'm sure Jeff obviously knows more than I do, but I can say with almost 100% confidence it involves water.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Please tell us Jeff Please!!!! Holiday world started teasing today.

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Well, based on Jeff's comment, I would say a dark ride is the attraction gap. But not sure how a building applies to the land clearing on Millie Island...and I would think construction would have started by now. Jeff: are you saying you know what the attraction is, or are you just assuming it will be something CP is missing, but don't know for sure?

I don't know what will be the answer to the million dollar question, but the way this wacky weather is in Ohio, they would have to get things started soon why it is dry for a least a day!!!

I know what it is, and I wish they'd just announce it so we could get past the ultra-absurd guessing. Rational guessing is OK. :)

Does anyone know when they are supposed to announce it?

Jeff, is there a good reason, from your perspective, that they would be withholding it? Is it an attraction that would make someone decide they would rather wait until next year to visit? Is it something another park might be able to "one up" if announced too soon.

I suppose you can make the case that they have no reason NOT to withhold it too.

My only "wish" is that it is a true family ride. Water, no water; that isn't as important.

Let's see.....100% confidence it involves water and the attraction gap is a dark ride....so maybe it is a dark water ride!

Please remain in your seat until the ride comes to a complete and final stop.

Clearly we need to hold Jeff down and tickle him until he 'fesses up. ;)
