I predict we wont have a reveal of project 2010 until after they give a final announcement on Halloweekends 2009.
Just saying...
How soon will it be announced?
Please remain in your seat until the ride comes to a complete and final stop.

Not always true. In my personal opinion, it will be a great addition to the park.

From what little I know, I'm looking forward. But Tony, let's speed up the announcements for Halloweekends so we can get to this announcement. I want to know the rest. ;)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

So sometimes they pay you to be disgruntled? ;)

No matter the case I will be happy with what it is. Over the years I have enjoyed all the rides they have put in. MaxAir,Skyhawk and Maverick all are good attractions. CP has learned to spoil us with good rides and therefore makes us want more. CP is a great park for the whole family and who wouldnt want it anymore than that?
Really, my only hope is that it is announced before Halloweekends (or at least the weekend I want to go) and the news convinces a good number of people decide to wait until next year to visit the park. I want a busy, but not Magic Kingdom on New Years Eve busy, weekend to visit the park.

Here is a question you might be able to answer Tony. Since the debacle that was Banshee/Mantis do you guys do test marketing on names? I was around back then and the chaos that ensued from the name change (pulling t-shirts, buttons and promotional materials out of circulation) was interesting.
Just curious if there are official steps taken these days to try and avoid those situations.

Chief - you mean besides secretly copyrighting the name and waiting to see what the PointBuzz community thinks of it?

Jeff,
When did you find out what the new attraction was? Do they invite you to the marketing meetings, when they announce it to the marketing/public relations department? I'm just curious, as a non-park employee and simply the owner of a Cedar Point fan site, it just seems weird that you would know what the attraction is. I'm certainly not doubting you know what it is, just wondering how/when you found out, and why Cedar Point tells certain people (who are not employed by the park) what they're building prior to the anouncement date.
Jeff has done contract work for new attractions in the past. It wouldn't surprise me if he has been contracted again (doing media for new rides). Honestly, I'm surprised he has said as much as he has. When Maverick speculation was at its peak, Jeff was silent on it because of the work he'd done.

^They tell him what it is so he can delete a post from an employee that might come on here and spill the beans. I'm pretty sure Walt knows too.
Atleast this is what they told us when Maverick was being developed.
EDIT: after reading Jugga's post I guess I am wrong.
Let's Get Weird.
Umm, wouldn't that sort of have the opposite effect? If I saw a post stating that the 2010 ride is a flume, and that post is deleted, that would offer a lot more confirmation than simply ignoring the post altogether.

Not to mention the park has their own ways for dealing with employees who break NDAs.

Well Maverick's info got released on here the week before they announced it. Those posts were still deleted. I was thinking try and delete it before a ton of people see it.
But now I know I'm wrong.
Let's Get Weird.
They were deleted because they were linking to a site run by douchebag who isn't going to be getting any info this time around. There's a difference between an employee spouting off, and someone who is given an official press-packet releasing it ahead of time because he think's he's cool.

Well, in that situation, the links to the site that leaked the info were removed. Linking to another site is spam and, according to this site's rules, prohibited.
Damn you, John!
