While wading through the many past comments. Someone on here could have nailed it why the trees were removed. While on Cedar Point's website looking through the landscaping, I did notice that Ash trees were part of the many trees they have. Considering the Emerald Ash Borer disease going on this could be a major reason why we have seen a portion of the island trees cut down.
Considering Pearson Metropark in Oregon, OH off of Route 2 has had the similar fate to their own trees the past few years.
Cedar Point hasn't gotten the shaft over the last 2 years. Look at the addtions that have been done.
Last year, Skyscraper, the new Ice Cream Parlor, Planet Snoopy.
This year, Starlight Experience, a very nice paint job on Blue Streak with a new updated lighting added to it.
Cedar Point doesn't always have to add a new thrill ride. It is nice to see these new additions in keeping up with attracting more families.
For the other remarks of Cedar Fair other parks it is really nice that they are adding new additions and building new coasters (excluding the old Geauga Lake coasters) at the parks.
Remember now Cedar Fair owns more parks now then when TTD came out.
If anything for any new additions would be more ride upkeep and upgrading lighting to the rides and focusing on better food.
Thanks to the community for the self-correction over the last couple of pages.

Its not a disease, its a bug that destroys the circulatory system of the ash tree. I didn't even think of this as a possibility, and it would make the most sense if the copse of trees cut down were all ash.

That's interesting, and might make sense given that so much building material was brought onto the island last year.

That doesn't explain why the bone yard was cleared out, they wouldn't clear that out unless they need the space for something.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
mabey they didnt want the trees to fall on the bone yard? idk i think we will see some type of new ride though.

Yes you are right. But usualy that meens more profit though. If it were me, I would sell Great America, Gilroy Gardens, and MIA. Theese parks don't really get any attention.
I am very angry that they would want to sell Valleyfair and WoF.

Why would you sell Michigan's Adventure? Sure its in Michigan (pos economy) and it doesn't pull in the highest revenue of all the parks, but it is also one of the most consistent and has a high potential for growth.

^^ Dorney& MIA are alike. Both small but dorney has alot of potential and has reached it. Hydra is the best floorless I have ever been on and Talon is tied with raptor for me with best inverted. MIA has Thunderhawk(wich sorda is bad) and shivering timbers just okay. Dorneys water park is slightly nicer than MIA. MIA really gets the bottom of the stack. IF they got a B&M hyper, I might feel different about that park.

So, you're basing your decision to sell MiAdv on the belief that getting rid of it would make Cedar Fair's portfolio "cooler"? Good thing the company bases their decision on things like revenue rather than whether they've recently invested anything.

Thunderhawk is bad? Puh-lease. Its a great coaster, and a HUGE coaster for how small Michigan's Adventure is.

The Thunderhawk comment doesn't bother me as much as the comment that Shivering Timbers is "okay"....

I quite agree. Please, don't let it be a soaker, whatever it is.

I hope for something good! I really enjoyed watching the Maverick be built! It don't have to be the biggest , fastest, or tallest to be a great ride... just my opinion....
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
It would make sense for SRF to go; replace an existing water ride with a new one.
First rollback=opening weekend '09
i dont think Snakes would go unless they get another ride similar toit. (Big Wave) i rather have a white water landing type ride. (SmallSplash). i still wish they would put in a intamin aqua trax.
