Walt, Thanks for removing CX360's post. I was getting very tired of reading them. I never seen so much negative from anyone on this site. Thanks for monitoring.
Sarah
I still like the Empty Seat w/ Troy next to it... I don't think it would be a PR Problem as long as we notify Cedar Point ahead of time. It could spark Press interest with a really good heart -warming story of strangers coming together to remember one of their own.
EDIT: Oops, I missed Kara's Post... that just helps build support for this decision :)

i came on here the other day and saw this.
how SAD. i cried at how everyone has come together in this. so moving. i never knew Mr Scott, but i did enjoy his posts. i know i am late to the table on this one, but i send my condolences and wish i could donate to the cause.
but since i really cant, i will keep my fingers crossed that it all works out and that the auction bid wins a seat for Mr Scott in one way or another.
i have never seen a community come together like this one has. i am proud to belong to this group of CP geeks, even if i am only a lurker these days....

Out of curiosity, are people donating amounts with odd number of cents ($10.13, for example), or does Paypall take a few pennies off of the amounts donated or something?
I just noticed that before the total was $1,269.61, and now it is $1,370.05.
Either way, it's awesome that we can all come together to remember someone like this.
While I prefer the "Missing Man Formation", just the fact that we are making this happen for MrScott and his family is truly incredible.
I can't wait to see pictures from this event. I'm honored to have been a small part of it.
The total reflects the net amount after PayPal's fees.
Although a quiet member, I too enjoyed learning from MrScott and cannot help but contribute something in memory of him.
I, like others have been reading this site for years and not posting. Yet I can't help but give money to this cause. I always found it amazing that so many people could share the love of an amusement park the way this community does but to transfer that to a fellow member is amazing. Mr. Scott's posts were always light hearted and fun. His name was one of the first I remember seeing the first few times I was on the site. No matter what happens, empty seat or Troy this is simply amazing and brings tears to my eyes.
My donation is small but I couldn't help but help a such a kind man have his ride. We all take these things we love for granted. Until I read this thread I was upset because I can't be there OD to ride Maverick, but it no longer seems to matter if I have to wait an extra week. This really makes me think. All I can say to Mr. Scott and everybody, "Ride On".
I like your post ATJazz. I was thinking the same thing; having to wait until 2008 to return to the point suddenly doesn't seem so "long", when something like this slams reality in front of your face.
You should all be very proud of yourselves. :) A great side of the human spirit has shown through here.

This thread had made it to the second page of the recent topics and I thought it could use a good nudge.

Ride on, MrScott!
Having been a lurker on here for quite a few years now, it's so saddening to see MrScott pass away. I really don't know if I can add anything that hasn't already been said.
Being a crew-member on Maverick though, please let me know if there is anything that our crew can do to help assist anyone in this process.
