Could be loading trains onto Mean Streak too. I don't know why they'd need a crane to attach the webcam when they can just walk up there.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Why is everyone making uneducated speculation as to what's going on? You should be smart enough to just know. Duh! :)
Well the small one is near MF's transfer station so that makes sense. As for Mavericks crane.....who knows. Last time I saw pics of the 3 trains in the SC lot, they didnt have the decals on them. Not to mention they (from the time I saw the most recent pics of the trains) would still have to put the copper train back together, put the decals on the other 3, and take gunmetal off the track so it can be sent to get its decals. So unless they finished the other 3 (4 if the brass train arraived) and are putting them on the track, I cant see what else the crane could be being used for besides the exit ramp/stairs or filling the supports (though I cant see the sand bags).

That would have to be one large webcam. MS can barely handle a train going around it.

You've been reading the Register too much Adam.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The latest pictures on the blog show what the fencing is going to look like. And the heartline roll looks like it's going to be killer going through the rockwork.

Anybody remember the old Kibbles 'n Bits commercial? Bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon, bacon! What's it say? I CAN'T READ!
That's about how I feel seeing these shots. I mean, I don't want to eat Maverick, don't get me wrong. Just the level of unrestrainable excitement. :)

Nice of them to put up a nice LONG solid wood wall between the train and the layout. I can see near the turns, but stretching all the way to TC! Why couldn't they have just put up a post/link fence like in the infield of the course!
:(

I agree 100%, I can not believe they did that. That fence looks ugly and blocks the entire view from the train going by. I hope thats not a sign of whats to come with all the low zone fences, if thats the case its going to look horrible. I really hope they won't use that fence to outline the rest of the ride area along the midway. :(
I disappointed that Cedar Point put all that theming into the ride and they go and cover it all up with that ugly wooden fence. :(

I know, I mean they could have at least put this type of fence there until the turns where the 'possibility' of a flying object hitting you is-

Yeah, I'm disappointed with the fence too. :(
They messed up... That was the type of fence I said they should put behind Pretzel Fillers to keep the line jumpers out of the Magnum line.
...And it appears there is more where that came from... http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/_upload/gallery/mvt166.jpg
You really aren't going to be able to see a lot of the ride from anywhere, unless you're actually on the ride.
Otherwise though, I'm glad to see that they seem to be putting some trees in. Hopefully there's more on the way. The station is also looking particularly good.

Ya I was thinking the same thing.
What a waste to go through all that theming and then hide it all :(

But, but but......I thought everyone LOVED the fence when I was complaining about it before. LOL!!
Honestly, the fence is a disaster. They could've EASILY done a "western looking" fence with a combination of wood and the usual black metal fence they use like on Dragster. Then people could've seen through it. The one upside is it looks like they're actually putting in some pretty mature trees between the fence and the train. Then again, in a couple of years, those trees will completely hide the ride from the train. I guess that's not a bad thing, but just different. At least you won't be able to see the fence anymore. LOL!!
I'm really worried about the fence between the midway and the ride. I'm assuming its going to be the same awful fence. They can't really put in a split rail fence like used to be there. At least I wouldn't think they could.
On the plus side, the canyons look really cool. The station also looks brilliant. I guess if they had to cut corners, at least it wasn't on the station. From the pics, they did an amazing job on the station. Congrats on that.
honestly, the construction wall looked better than that thing

Maybe they'll paint some "theme" onto the fence? Sorta like the faded logos and stuff that are on the WWL station. They could put up wanted posters and stuff too. It sucks you can't see the ride, but if it has to be there, maybe they could lessen its impact a little.
Edit: can't spell. :) *** Edited 4/4/2007 12:36:24 AM UTC by halltd***
