MF Island - Construction?

Hopefully a Floorless roller coaster?:)

"Coasters are life"-Userx

Lets look at TTD for a second. CP knows they need to put in a coaster that "works" and can move a line along. To me floorless coasters are pointless unless you are in the front. So maybe a flyer that has great compacity. Or a new idea that has never been done before. Although they need to make sure it works very well.

The way I see it: Why would CP build a floorless coaster. A floorless is nothing different than an inverted, only to have the track underneath the train. CP already has a floorless, go ride Raptor.

I was at the park today and the dirt piles seem to have become a bit more organized on the island. There are a few of them and they are all the same general size. Other than that nothing exciting seems to have happened.

Also the lagoon water level appeared to be normal and not low like some people have been saying. Dragster was closed all day so maybe the oil leak story is true but I don't think any oil leaked into the lagoon.

I agree that a floorless coaster would not be a great investment for the park. They tend to only give an exciting ride in the front row. I would also much rather see a flyer with some unique inversions or a flyer with a Dueling Dragons type of layout. I'm not in charge of what happens at the park though so I guess I'll just have to settle for whatever comes next.

278 coasters and still counting!

Well I'm going to have to be the minority here and say I disagree with the floorless comments. I have been on a couple floorless's and many inverts and I can say from firsthand experience they provide you with two very different experiences. Seeing the track whizzing by your feet is alot different than seeing nothing. The other MAJOR factor you are forgetting is airtime. There is much potential airtime on a floorless, whereas on an invert, there is none, seeing as you are below the track. Between those 2 factors, the experience changes drastically.

But there are many rides in CP that give you as much airtime as you could want. On the other hand..a floorless would give a little more diversity to their 'coaster list' and create a better 'collection' but as far as giving us an experience we already HAVEN'T had..i don't think so.

I don't think CP would ever build a floorless coaster, they have one at GL so why would they want to take people away from GL?

They also have a flyer, albeit from another company than the one they would probably build.

I think a flyer over the swan boat pond and over the lagoons would be amazing. Getting like 2 feet from the water and flying just over it would be really cool.

That would be cool to fly face first almost touching the water. I would like to see a roller coaster that goes upside down more than seven times. They don't have many coasters that go upside down. A flier will be cool too.

I think a flier would work best back in Frontier Land. It would be really neat if they could get it to go through all the trees and foliage that has grown back there over the years. However I wouldn't like it if they cleared alot of trees for any coaster back there.

4-D all the way!

GCI Dueling coaster! or a GG coaster ala' Hades. Make a tunnel under the lagoon.

I saw the dirt piles yesterday when riding paddelwheel, they are right behind the first low overbanked turn of MF on the island. It doesn't look like anything special, kinda hard to see because it's behind the trees. I didn't see them while on MF, just Paddlewheel. They looked dried up, not like fresh dirt for construction. I assume they've been there for a while and don't really mean anything. But who knows...

Building a floorless at CP would not pull people away from GL. No one goes to GL over CP because of the floorless coaster, that would be dumb, what makes you think they would make the trip just because CP has the same type of ride? People who are going to GL are going to go regardless of CP having a floorless. You won't see any park not build a ride simply because a park thats close to them already has one. If that were the case there would be alot of very sad Six Flags around.

I'm still waiting for the dueling hyper flyer that beats the inversion record and would reside on the plot of land where White Water Landing is currently located...

That's a great idea, take away the only water ride that doesn't get you completly soaked. I'll be very upset to see WWL go.

I'd like to see them fix WWL so it works the way it did before the "incident" a few years back. With using only one chute, what used to be a real people eater on hot days now has pretty poor capacity and is really a shadow of its former self.

I feel like a great move for CP would be to use more of the land on Millennium Island, but put the entrance to the ride back on Frontier Trail somewhere perhaps with a bridge over to the isand or something. That way, they could preserve probably the most beautiful area of the park, while at the same time drawing more people that way. Last Saturday, the park was pretty busy, but the trail was still dead. Could be a boon to those little shops back there too.

What was the "incident" a few years back?

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I would like to see a 4-D coaster, like X or whatever, but those take alot of room... I would be satisfied with anything new they built, MaXair isn't a roller coaster but it does have it's Ups and Downs... what a pun :)
