^^ I still remember when MF was 54". I barley made the cut to ride it back in 2000.

I think the announcement was on that sign...oh sorry, that was the menu for chick-fil-a. :)

They have been working all through the night. They really wanna get this in fast.

Way to go CP! And the coaster comes in the niiiiiiiiiight! (Another Strong Bad reference)
Im anxious to see how this thing looks completed. During construction, they could get 2-4 pieces installed in a day. I wonder if we will see the actual track in place today...

Since they started last night, I wouldn't be suprised. They'll have to torque the bolts, fill the supports with sand, add the filler concrete under the support, and maybe a few other things I'm missing. Of course they'll do more testing as well. I'm sticking with my original prediction of 2 weeks from the tracks arrival. I think Maverick will be open the weekend of the 2nd.

I am hoping it is up and running by June 7 when I take my son and a few of his friends for his bday.
Man, Intamin must have elves working for them or something. To get new supports and track designed and fabricated in two weeks is a miracle!! :)
The track actually looks rust when photographed at night. he he!! I can't wait to see what the finished element looks like.
Jason... I only hope your prediction is right. My next trip to CP is June 3rd!

Neat. I'll be at the point on 5/29, 5/30, 5/31, 6/4 and 6/7. If I get one ride on Maverick, I'll be very happy!

That's probably because the Engineer who got paid tons of money to design the coaster knew the heartline roll might not pass so he had them make the extra track months ago.. LOL Joking thou. But you still got to wonder with todays advanced engineering and computers how this happened. As long as it's running by June 17th I'll be a happy camper.
The new track is in, it has been delivered. The workers are now installing it. Here is the update and some pictures:
Forget the silica sand, just go scoop some sand from the beach.;)
lol just kidding....
Seriously though, it's great to see the new track. I cant wait to see it up close and personal on Memorial Day.

Yes, this is indeed great news!
Aside from completing the replacements, checking clearance, testing the ride, certifying it by the state, a little more crew training perhaps - what else is left to do?
If they fast-track the testing and the certification, it could be open in the next week or so since most of the other checklist items have been taken care of already.
I may have to go to the park tonight after work. I'm all excited again. :)
One thing I found interesting is that the blog says they recieved 4 new sections of track. Yet they only removed 3. Will they need to remove one more section or is one or all of these pieces shorter than what was taken out. Also, with the whole issue of the male/female ends on the track, will there be a section that does not have those m/f ends or with they try to flew it into place? Maybe we'll get some awnsers in the blog or when I go to the park to get some pictures tonight.
