Maverick Track Replacement

I just got off of work and happend to notice on the Cedar Point web cam, that it looks like they're draining the pond for the track replacement. Wonder if the track haseven been made yet, or if the "new" design has been agreed upon? I feel left in the dark!

If they want to get the new track installed in early June (aka 2-3 weeks away), they've already got a design and the track has been fabricated. Odds are the delayed opening and track replacement was a contingency plan that's been in place for quite a while. We just didn't hear about it until the last possible minute.

Well, it was almost completely drained last night, but looks like the overnight thunderstorms have filled it again.

The reasoning over them still testing the ride was to find out exactly what part had the maximum amount of G's.

The new track has been fabricated and is now undergoing the painting process.

How can the track already be fabricated, if they're still trying to figure out where the problem is?

Tony Clark said on the latest CoasterBuzz podcast, that the heartline roll was causing the problem, and that the reason they were still testing was to train the crew in operating the ride. Furthermore, he said that they would not hesitate for a second, from the time they know the opening date to the time they tell the public.

Would I rather believe a rumor that says otherwise? No, I don't think so...

Rippin you're so wrong it's not even funny. Don't fill people's heads with wrong information, alot of people have already done a good enough job of that one.

I love how people would rather instantly post something instead of reading first to see if it's already been discussed fifty times or not.

Rippin - well, you didn't answer the question to your "knowledge". If they are still testing to determine which area needs to be replaced, then how would they know what parts to re-fabricate?

And why should we believe you over an official spokesman for the park?

I'm not bashing you Rippin, but basicly your saying that Tony and the Park are lying. I'd be more apt to belive Tony, then someone I don't know.

halltd, c'mon man, you mean that people are talking about Maverick??? You mean that there might be other posts about the new track? Holy cow! I would have never guessed that! ;)

Nick

It's like a carousel!! Round and round we go with the same statements and rumors. I just want them to finish it and open the ride so we don't have to keep reading about this.

^Exactly....and preferably before June 3, although I seriously doubt that. I'll probably have to wait until 2008 to ride, but at least opening it up will end all this speculation!

Nick

I highly doubt that is true rippin..

I just heard about 5 minutes ago that the G-forces were to intense in the curve after the launch and that the ride will be officially opened up on June 16th.

Wouldn't Cedar Point have announced the opening date on their website? According to Tony from the Coasterbuzz Podcast, they will announce the opening day for Maverick as soon as they know. There is not one thing Cedar Point's website that backs what you said.

Because seasonals always know what's going on wayyy before the public...and obviously seasonals would rather get fired for posting company information on the internet then keep their jobs, and obviously an area manager would go out of their way to call one seasonal at their other job to tell them this information. /really obvious sarcasm

Get a life, buddy. I put in two seasons there and many more on these forums have worked there longer. Any one of them would tell you you're full of it.

As it has been said many times before....

And those who talk, do not know.

I thought it was the heartline roll that was stressing the trains, not neccessarily the curve?

Rippin... You're full of it. Your 'area manager' is not going to know anymore then our crew is going to know, so please, for everyone's sake... just stop.
