OMG - I see a mermaid flopping in the mud. Quick! someone fill the pond back up.

You can finally see track is missing.

They wasted no time on this. Go CP, early June seems like they're right on time.

Let's hope someone has a camera on that bridge.

I want to see them start testing now. :)

Also, I want the name of their fabrication shop that can make track in a little over a week. :)

Would you guys consider dates after June 7th "early June"? I just want to have an idea about my chances... I know there's no guaranties (yet).

I'm just hoping that they have Maverick up and running before CoasterMania on the 15th. In fact it would be most excellent if it could be open the weekend before, because I'd hate to have to negotiate the "first time on Maverick" crowd during CM weekend!

If I had access to my photobucket account and paint, I'd show you how I came to the conclusion. IMO it just looked like it wasnt as angled down as the ones on the heartline. It almost looked like it was in the 90° range.

It doesnt matter. Come tomorrow, I know I'll look and just think "Oh yeah, I called it." ;)

I consider that early June. I guess the bigger question is, are they removing the track just to get a head start, or do they have the replacement track ready to go in right away? If they are removing/replacing all at one time, you have a very good chance of it being open when you're there. :)

I would say that if they're removing/replacing right now, it COULD be open before June even hits.

So do they still have to do the Full 100 hours (if this is a rule) of testing to abide by the law after the track is replaced in order for it to open?

I thought the 100 hours of testing was just on the trains, but I could be wrong.

I'm not sure either, but if that is true could it open earlier than expected? Or do you think even if the track is in place and ready to go that CP will still test the ride over and over till Early June to make sure everything is in tip top shape. Cause you never know, there can always be another problem with the new track even.

Man, it's like last season all over again. Watching webcams and waiting for pictures of track showing up. :) The anticipation is killing me, but I love it.

The track would have to be arriving soon if they are already removing it, just because that would be wasted testing time. Do you think they will have to do any major support adjustments like pour concrete for foundations etc.?

It wouldn't be wasting time if they've already completed the required train and crew testing.

^^Good point, and good question. I would hope they found a way to at least reuse the footers. But who knows.

I guess that could be another reason for taking track out if the new hasn't shown up yet. If for some reason they need to modify the footings, they need some time to do that. The difficulty there is I think those footings are now under (or very close to) the foundation of the canyons. If I had to bet, I'd say they designed the new track to use the existing footings and supports. Worst case, they're put a new or modified support on the existing footing. Maybe we'll get some new funky looking support like the ones on Great Bear? :)

Just as long as it's up and running in time for COASTERMANIA on June 15th! Oh please, oh please, oh please, oh please!!!!
