All I can say is I hope its up and running on the weekend on June 2nd because that when I am taking my family that is comming in from out of town to Cedar Point. My aunt hasnt been to Cedar Point since I believe Maggie was introduced. Now my 2 cousins that are comming have been there sine MF was into'd. So it will be a blast with all the rides that are new to them and classics to me. Oh and I hope and pray that there will be a new roller coaster named Maverick open to the public when I am there. As for the color of track I am also thinking its different colors but I could be wrong. But if not Maverick might be the first coaster to get a fresh coat of paint after it's first season. How about Dark gray track and Black Supports

Well, there sure have been a roller coaster of emotions for Maverick (pardon the pun). From all the excitement early on, to the disappointment that it was delayed (especially for me because my only trip this year is June 3), to now and the possibility that it just might be open after all!!!

Well, they ran out of the original paint, and had to go to Home Depot and try to make some more. But you know how it is, they can never quite match it up. ;)

Wow I'm so excited to see them putting track in. It's pretty impressive that they were able to re-design track without having to replace or install new concrete footers. Or at least it looks that way.

I highly doubt that Rippin is right, but nonetheless if Cedar Point is still planning on getting Mavy open by early June, they should be installing the new pieces very soon to allow for more testing. Do you think they'll need to do another pull-through to make sure clearance is acceptable?
By the way, hooray for me. I actually got something right! (Although this one was somewhat predictable IMO.)

Remember that the rest of the track has been sitting in the Sandusky sun for over a year now and red is not a good color in the sun. I'm sure it's faded somewhat already and that could explain a slight color difference.

Maybe that guy that said they are trying to get this thing going by Memorial Day was right...
I can see it happening at this point. They'll probably put forth any effort available to get it opened quickly.
Or it's just that the pictures were taken in the middle of the night with halogen lights in the background instead of the sun.

To be honest I don't care what color the new track is! Just get it put in and tested and get the ride open!!! If it doesn't match then paint it later!

I'm sure the track is the same color. Like Jason said, those pictures were taking at "night" with glaring halogen (yellow) light on the track. So, it's no wonder it looks a different color.
If it's off at all, I'm sure it's only because the original track is a year old already.

One thing I found interesting is that the blog says they recieved 4 new sections of track. Yet they only removed 3. Will they need to remove one more section or is one or all of these pieces shorter than what was taken out. Also, with the whole issue of the male/female ends on the track, will there be a section that does not have those m/f ends or with they try to flew it into place?
I've been wondering about the same thing. Maybe one of the pieces is just missing the center pins.

I doubt it. They will probably have to loosen one of the remaining sections of track to wiggle it in place, and may have to loosen a couple sections and then re-torque all of them.

They can just start from the "fixed" ends of track and work towards the center. The center supports will still have give. The ones they didn't remove are already concreted to the base and won't move much, if at all. I'm sure if they have a good crane operator and guiders, it will go in just fine.
I can see that the track seems very straight to be a S-Curve. Why there's 4 pieces instead of 3, I think it's the support for it, but having the piece that has no pins in it does make sense too.

Intamin's design doesn't allow for a lack of pins though (at least not that I can see, but I'm not an expert either). The pins are what keep one section on center with the next.
I wish I had a good look at B&M track to see if it does the same thing.

Ride on, MrScott!
Well, where are all the engineers now who said it couldn't be done?
Looks like CP, IntaRide, Adena and the shipping company all got the job done big time. CP wants to run this ride as much as we want to ride it. Congratulations to all of them.
I would not discount what the one person who works Maverick said, that he is to report to the ride Friday. It really looks like that may happen!
