well if they are at this point in testing i personally think that they have already tested power outage senerios. I believe that the only element of the ride that they were worrying about getting the new track installed and making sure it works, and finishing up the state minimum required testing before riders will be allowed to ride. *** Edited 5/23/2007 10:10:37 PM UTC by NoSoup4U***
If I didn't know any better I'd say, by the looks on the funcam, that they're using the crane to do some pull throughs.

They started the install of the last piece of track around 12:15. My wife and I were eating at Chick Fil-A when I saw the crane lifting up the last piece from behind the fencing. They finally had it in place around 2:00pm but were still working on getting all of the holes to line up. Hats off to the construction crew on that last piece. I saw Monte Jasper out walking around as well checking the progress of the install.
BGRooDoG,
The crane was moving from right to left (in the picture) at a rapid rate. It would pause all the way to the left and then move back to start all over again.

Here is a video of the track being installed.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I met up with an ACE'r from Toledo who was at the park all day. He said that the shots we saw of the train on the lift was just lift hill testing. It would roll up fast and then right at the top it would stop and then slowly roll back down.
Also, they did do a pull through with the Clearance board. However, it was not a train, but rather a set of casters designed to run on the track and hold the clearance board.
We were there til close and they hadn't run a train yet. But there were people in the station playing with the controls in the station an on the transfer track.
I'll post pictures shortly.

The person in this picture and this picture (who ever he is) told my fellow ACE'r that they are hoping to open Saturday. My ACE buddie said he had a heavy accent. Could this be an IntaRide engineer? Sandor maybe? I have no idea what he or anyone there looks like. But he was the only one climbing around that didn't look like a construction worker.

A small side note: He drove up in the White truck in the first picture.

I dont normally join in speculation....but I also did hear a construction worker say they were pushing hard for a Memorial Day Weekend opening. Take it with a grain of salt........Im sure Cedar Point took the position of "Under Promise....Over Deliver" in this case which means they are trying to open it earlier than "early June".
Im sure Cedar Point would love to have Maverick open for Memorial Day Weekend. Every day its down is lost revenue.
