^^Great news... I've heard there's no lines at all for Dragster this season!

I love the drop side.

I’m watching TV and looking at my phone, bored, and for some reason pulled up the webcams only to be rewarded with a nice treat. Power Tower West was pointed toward Frontiertown and included several rides. There wasn’t much action, and I wondered if it was even working, until suddenly Millennium Force flew by on the left, Mine Ride went across the lagoon, circled around and went up the lift, Woodstock Express hit the top of it’s lift then twirled down and around it’s first drop, then from the lower right appeared a Snake River Exhibition boat. It meandered up the lagoon then turned left and disappeared.
It was so fun to catch all the visible rides running their cycles pretty much at the same time. And the new Frontiertown cam was pointed at Skyhawk and I got to see it swing full of riders, with Millennium Force taking passengers down it’s thrilling first drop at the same time.
I’m very pleased to report that all rides within view are up and running.

Still a longer line than Rougaroo.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
And the current webcam shows a couple of coasters and...the parking lot. JUST the parking lot. Hm. Could be entertaining at closing time...
My favorite view lately was the West cam zoomed in towards Millie’s 3rd hill. There was almost always something going on in that shot. Rougaru’s turn before the brake run was in the bottom left, you could see people on frontier fling, MF hill three was visible, plus some of the island turnaround, you could see the Mine Ride climbing the first hill, CPLE by the mine ride, I think you could see it on the far side too. Plus Skyhawk and Maverick. I’d pay good money for a 4K loop of that view. 😁
They finally backed Camera 1 off of the zoomed in view of Raptor. Now looking towards the new project. Gives a real nice view of how big that area of land is.
Just used that image to measure the rough area (as close as I can get with 2018 pre boardwalk sat images) on Google maps and it says that's 100,175 square feet (9,306 square meters) of available area.
Using that reference image on Google it looks like the entire old aquatic stadium footprint and the as close to tiki twirl, giant wheel, and gatekeeper plaza as they could make it.
Also tightened up on where there are foundations and active building construction going on behind the giant wheel. It's about 36,535 square feet (3,394 meters). Even assuming some of that is a good size outdoor plaza or such that's a big building to have multiple stories.
Still haven't been able to uncross these circuits...

Seems like there's 3 distinct areas inside the fence. The building, the pit, and the old stage/lawn area. It looks like the 3rd area is mostly unchanged and just being used for materials storage.
I wonder about the possibility that nothing happens to that section. If once the building's done, they just dust off the sand, take down the fence and we have a big open unused area for 2023. I'm still hopeful for a smaller coaster, new stage, or a new flat ride or 2, but I've had to reduce my expectations a lot lately.
Cedar point wasn’t built in a day. Things can take multiple years. Just excited to see the next ride that they add…to the scrap pile for a restaurant.
First ride; Magnum 1994
The east pointing cam was showing the lightning towards Cleveland earlier, captured a few of them.

The drop side is one of the three things in the park I won't ride due to my fear of heights (along with the Giant Wheel and Windseeker).
I share your fear of heights -which only takes hold of me on the slower moving high rides. I am not fond of the Giant Wheel and I get sweaty palms on the slow ride up the Power Tower drop side. It took me until the 2021 season to finally get the courage to ride Windseeker. I was terrified of what I perceived it to be! But when I finally got on it and realized what I had been missing - I felt a little bit embarrassed for my reluctance. Much the same as I felt after the first time I rode TTD - probably not until 2015 or so. But there, I wasn't afraid of the height so much as the launch.
I haven't had ride #2 on Windseeker yet, but I am no longer terrified of doing so.
Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!
Interestingly, I can ride Windseeker at Kings Island without a care in the world. I think the location next to the giant death water has an impact on me at Cedar Point.
The webcam this morning showed what appeared to be piles of snow in the parking lot.

This evening's view suggests that all 3 cameras have been positioned so as to avoid showing any clue as to how busy the park might be on a beautiful weather weekend in late October.
After looking at all 3 webcams tonight, where is the High-def sharpness we saw at the start of these new cameras?
